KOPTIE, Norman KOPTIE “So with you; now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” John 16:22 It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of our beloved father, NORMAN THOMAS KOPTIE, surrounded by family at the Coaldale Health Centre – Long Term Care, on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the age of 73 years.
Norman is survived by his three daughters: Stephanie, Ashlee and Kathleen, as well as his sister, Margaret Bruner.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Debbie Koptie.
Norman was born November 25, 1951 in Yorkton, SK.
The memories of Norman will be cherished and shared so he can live on through stories.
The family would like to extend the sincerest thank you to the staff and nurses at Coaldale Long Term Care that cared so well for Norman and made him feel at home during his time there.
At Norman’s request, a private family memorial service will be held to honour his passing.

SADOWSKI, Helena
HELENA SADOWSKI (KORTT) 1933 – 2024 Mrs. Helena Sadowski of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Peter Sadowski, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at home on September 25, 2024, at the age of 91 years.
Helen was born February 10, 1933, in Omszary, Poland. She and her family spent the war years in a detention camp in Germany. When the war ended, they were in Polish camps before immigrating to Canada in 1949. They travelled by train from Halifax to Lethbridge before settling in Raymond. She married Peter in 1955 and moved to Lethbridge where she resided until her passing.
Helen and Peter enjoyed travelling to Europe, The Pacific Islands, New Zealand, and Australia.
Helen was a wonderful cook, baker, and homemaker. She lovingly cooked to feed family, friends, and anyone who happened to drop by.
Helen was an avid gardener and maintained the award-winning garden that she and Peter created for years after his untimely passing in 1994.
Besides her faith, Helen’s greatest love was for her immediate and extended family as well as dear friends. She lived for her grandchildren, great grandson and beamed with pride and joy with every visit and milestone. They were all able to give her warm, loving hugs just a short time ago. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed until we meet again.
Helen is survived by daughter Terry Sunada of Lethbridge; son Robert Sadowski (Linda Spencer) of Brighton, Nova Scotia; granddaughter Danielle Sadowski of Calgary; grandson Barrett Sunada; great grandson Bodhi of Calgary; sister-in-law Anne Kortt; numerous nieces, nephews and their families; as well as cousins from Canada, The United States, and Australia.
Besides her loving husband, Peter Sadowski, Helen was predeceased by her parents Albert and Julianna Kortt; sister Lola Wnek; brothers Watter Kortt and Gus Kortt; and brother-in-law Ted Wnek; and Nephew Richard Wnek.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, October 4, 2024, at ST. BASILS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13 STREET NORTH, LETHBRIDGE, Alberta, with Father Kevin Tumback officiating. The service will be recorded and can be viewed later at https://www.mbfunerals.com/obituary/HelenaHelen-Sadowski
Interment will follow the Service at the Mountain View Cemetery.

DOROK, Emil
DOROK EMIL DOROK, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly at the Chinook Regional Hospital, in the early morning hours on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
Emil will be lovingly remembered by his sister Adele Oglesby and her extended family: Brigitte Berke, Matthew (Lauren) Berke, Clinton (Jennifer) Berke, Joshua (Rhiannon) Berke, Sarah Taylor, Alexandra Leger, Hunter Taylor, Max Berke, Julian Berke, Ava Berke and Seth Berke; sister Trautchen “Tillie” Krueger and her extended family: David Krueger, Mark (Corrie) Krueger, Tyler Krueger, and Randy Krueger; sister Talita Andrejcik and her extended family: Christine (Al) Sekura, Ann (Steve) Kambietz and Michel (Beth) Andrejcsik.
He was predeceased by his parents Julius and Emily; two sisters, Ida Michallik and Else Herbort; brothers-in-law, Hermann Berke and Hilmer Krueger; and nephews, Horst-Hermann Berke and Peter Krueger.
Emil was born on March 26, 1932, in Tomaszówka, Poland to Julius and Emily Dorok. Due to the war, Emil relocated to Berge, East Germany and subsequently to Schönhagen, West Germany. In 1953, Emil immigrated with his mother, father and two sisters, Trautchen and Talita, to Taber, Alberta.
Emil spent his first two and a half years in Taber, farming and working on the railroad. He then moved to Lethbridge and worked as a journeyman painter until his retirement in 1989. Emil enjoyed dancing, watching hockey, and volunteering time to his church. Emil was a devout Christian in the Lutheran Faith.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday October 3, 2024, with a Viewing at 10:30 A.M. and the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Lee Loveridge officiating. Following the Funeral Service, Emil will be laid to rest in Royal View Memorial Cemetery, 5920 13 St North, Lethbridge.

LAMMERTSEN, Arlene LAMMERTSEN ARLENE LAMMERTSEN, beloved wife of George Lammertsen, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the age of 63 years, after complications due to a brief illness. In the end, she was surrounded by the love of her family. We grieve in the loss of our beloved wife, mother, Grammie, daughter, sister and friend but rejoice in the fact that Arlene is now with her precious Saviour.

A Memorial Service for anyone who cherished Arlene or her family will be held at PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 – 15 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. with Pastor Paul Van Stralen officiating. All are welcome to attend. The Memorial Service will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Arlene’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
