POPOVITCH, Anne
ANNE POPOVITCH 1932 – 2024 Anne Popovitch of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Fred Popovitch, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, at Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 92.
Anne was born in Lethbridge to Tony and Katherine Palychuk in 1932. She married her soulmate, Fred, in July of 1952 and remained happily and lovingly married to Fred until his passing in 2017.
Anne was always a loving, hard-working lady, both at home and in the workplace, where she exceptionally maintained her office management and bookkeeping skills until her retirement at the age of 70. We are especially going to miss “Anne’s Bakery”, as Mom continued her passion of feeding her family and baking bread and goodies until early summer of this year.
Anne was predeceased by her father, Tony Palychuk, mother, Katherine Palychuk, brother, Vic Palychuk and sister, Florence Wilson.
Anne is survived by her loving son and daughter, David Popovitch and Michelle Sinclair (Joe), her cherished granddaughter, Jasmine Sinclair and her “adopted daughter”, Dannielle Skelding. She is also survived by her sister, Vickie Ford, along with numerous adored nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and her grand-cat-babies.
As per Anne’s wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Anne’s name to an animal rescue of your choice.
Thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff on floor 5A at Chinook Regional Hospital for the wonderful care and attention provided to our mother.

EGELAND, Gordon
GORDON EGELAND 1941 – 2024 Mr. Gordon Egeland of Enchant, beloved husband of Mrs. Carol Egeland, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the age of 83 years.
Dad was born on the family farm in Circle Hill, Alberta on May 12, 1941. He graduated from high school in Vauxhall, then went to work for Art and Phyllis Howg on their family farm in Enchant. He was a hired hand but was treated and felt like a part of the family.
Dad met Carol Geremia at a dance in Retlaw, and they were married in the spring of 1969 in the Catholic Church in Vauxhall. Together they homesteaded on a section of land Northeast of Enchant and remained there until selling the farm in 2008. From there they built a new house in Enchant where they remained until his passing.
Besides working in the fields and looking after his cows, dad loved both playing and coaching hockey and baseball. He also loved to fish, and you could often find him on the ice of Lost Lake, banks of Stone Hill or any other spot the fish were jumping, playing cards with his family and close friends at the Circle Hill Hall, playing Poker at the shack, or shooting the moon with family. Dad spent hours touring Circle E, checking the cows and grass with his trademark white hard hat. He never missed a game of his beloved Toronto Blue Jays and Calgary Flames. Dad’s favorite quote was “born to fish, forced to work”.
Besides his loving wife Carol, Gordon is survived by 2 sons Tracy (Nicole) and his boys Trent and Tyler; Allan (Holly) and their boys Parker and Noah; and Gordon and Carol’s only daughter Sandi. He is also survived by his siblings Taletta Dorchak, Maggie Egeland, Alma Osberg and Gladys Hagen; sisters-in-law Wendy Egeland, Donna (Jerry) Ellerman, Susan (Robert) Stauth and Diana Geremia.
He was predeceased by his parents Oscar and Anna Egeland; siblings Carl (Gloria), Olai (Suzy), Art (Kathy), Otto and Butch; brothers in law Orville Dorchak, Ray Osberg, Butch Geremia; parents in law Peter and Veronica “Minni” Geremia, and brother-in-law Gerald “Butch” Geremia.
