ARIAS, Frank FRANK ARIAS FRANK ARIAS originally from Lethbridge passed away peacefully Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Calgary at the age of 64 years.
Predeceased by his parents and his little youngest brother.
Survived his younger brother Joe.
He will be greatly missed.
GLIMSDALE, Gordon Gordon John Glimsdale June 23, 1930 – October 9, 2024 (age 94) Gordon Glimsdale, beloved husband of Barb Glimsdale, passed away peacefully at the Claresholm General Hospital on October 9, 2024, at the age of 94. He was born at the Claresholm Hospital on June 23, 1930, the first child of John and Bertha (Hoffman) Glimsdale. He was raised on the farm East of Pulteney and attended school in the district. In 1947 at the young age of 16 his father John passed away, and he stepped into the role of provider and farming became his lifelong calling.
Gordon was a member of the Lutheran Church his entire life. The neighboring farm families provided him with a lifetime of warm-hearted memories, many of farming, camping, fishing, flying, motorcycling, snowmobiling and hunting. He also enjoyed travelling south in the winter to Yuma, AZ for 28 years after his retirement.
Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years Barb, his daughter Donna (Ron) Estabrook, and son Butch (Karin) Glimsdale, grandchildren Arianne Estabrook, Randy (Tara) Estabrook, Raylin Woodman, Tyler (Lezli) Sheen, Brady (Kaitlin) Glimsdale and Robby Glimsdale as well as 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Don (Myrna) Glimsdale and numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his father John (1947), his mother Bertha (1970), his brother Oliver (1997), and his sister Mildred (2020).
Gordon will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

MAHE, Edward “Dean” MAHE EDWARD DEAN MAHE, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Alice Mahe, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre, on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the age of 91 years.
Besides his loving wife, Alice, Dean is survived by his sons Darren of Nelson, BC and Bryan (Stacey) of Yellowknife, NWT; and by his daughter Michelle of Edmonton, AB; as well as six grandchildren: Chris and Logan, Scot and Ashleigh, and Zoe and Zara.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward Frank and May Evelyn Mahe.

WOOD, Kenney Kenney Wood 1963 – 2024 James Kenney Wood, beloved husband of Julie Wood (née Anderson), passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and daughters in Lethbridge on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the age of 60 years.

Kenney will be deeply missed by many, especially his wife and five daughters, Amy (Brock) Wilde of Sylvan Lake, Brooke (Rope) Smith of Lethbridge, Kelsie (Truman) Long of Lethbridge, Paige (Parker) Smith of Magrath, Abby Wood of Utah and by his ten adoring grandchildren; his sister Cheryl (Bob) Bullock of Barnwell, their family and by numerous members of the Anderson family.
Kenney was born in Edmonton on November 9, 1963, to Jim and Jeri Wood and moved to Lethbridge shortly thereafter where he spent his childhood and teenage years, forging many lifelong friendships. His love for sports grew during this time as he played baseball, volleyball, basketball and enjoyed skiing and fishing and had the opportunity to play volleyball for a year at Lethbridge Community College.
From 1982 to 1984, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Anaheim, California.
On June 28, 1986, he married Julie Anderson in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They began their life together in Lethbridge, where he worked for Alberta Treasury Branch and their daughters Amy and Brooke were born. Their journey took them to High Prairie next, where Kelsie was born and then to Claresholm, where Paige and Abby joined the family. Kenney worked at the local Credit Union and Investors Group. In 2006, he began a new chapter at Western Financial in Taber, leading to their move to Barnwell, where they built the home they cherish. Throughout these years he formed many lasting friendships.
Kenney was dedicated to coaching, sharing his passion for sports at various levels. Known fondly as “Coach Kenney,” he loved coaching young athletes, imparting lessons not only in sports but in life. His commitment to service extended to his church, where he found happiness and fulfillment, especially his time as a Bishop as he mentored and spent time with youth. He enjoyed serving all those he could, young and old alike.
Kenney was known for his great sense of humor and zest for life. He had a unique gift for connecting with others, ensuring everyone felt valued and loved. His favorite place was wherever his family was, whether working in the yard or traveling abroad, he loved it all.

MATHESON, Samuel SAMUEL “SAM” MATHESON 1931 – 2024 Mr. Samuel “Sam” Matheson of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Margaret Matheson, passed away at Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the age of 93 years.
Sam was born to Samuel and Florence Matheson on July 29, 1931 and was the middle child in a family of five.
Sam attended LCI in Lethbridge and then spent time surveying. In 1965 Sam joined the RCAF, serving in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta. He then headed up North to work on the DEW line. On his return to Lethbridge, Sam joined AGT where he worked until retiring in 1992.
In 1967 Sam married Marg Drummond and the two of them settled in Lethbridge and raised two children, Sam and Meg, the delights of Sam’s life.
Sam was also a collector and spent many happy hours over his stamps and coins, the outdoors, curling and skiing.
Sam is survived by his daughter Megan Matheson; sister Joyce Dziedzic and many Drummond and Matheson nieces, nephews and their families. As one niece said, “Uncle Sam was a warm and gentle man, loved by all.”
Besides his loving wife Margaret, Sam was predeceased by his parents; son Samuel Matheson and three brothers Bill Matheson, Bud Matheson and Clyde Matheson.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, with Reverend Steve Bateman officiating.
