ZAUGG, Ruth

ZAUGG Ruth Ellice Zundel Zaugg, wife of Ferries Bohman Zaugg, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024. They had a good marriage in Stirling for 48 years where they raised their seven children, Lucie (Eduardo Alvarez), Max (Pat), Paul (Bronwyn), Ferris (Terry), Spencer (Cheralin), Mitzi (Doug Schmale), Holt (Monica).
She loved to share, with a glint in her eyes, to those she would meet that she had one and a half dozen children. She loved each of her children and grandchildren dearly, always putting their needs first before her own. It always brightened her day and brought her great joy to have her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family visit and spend time with her. Ruth treasured her friendships, whether young or old, and generously shared her laughter, compassion, and kindness with all. She wishes to thank her many friends for their kindness over the years.
The gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was always an important part of Ruth’s life. She enthusiastically served a mission for the LDS church in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and area where she met her forever companion. After her mission she willingly gave up the big city life of Santa Monica, California to move to the Village of Stirling to be a loving wife and companion to Ferries.
Ruth served in many leadership positions in the LDS church. She enjoyed working within the Primary and Relief Society Organizations and found great joy and satisfaction working with the youth when she taught Seminary. Service was easy for Ruth. She was always involved helping with one endeavor or another whether it be making quilts, cooking meals, teaching English to ESL adults or serving on the Auxiliary for the Raymond and Lethbridge hospitals.
Ruth will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes there will be a family graveside service on Thursday October 24, 2024. She has requested that those wishing to pay her tribute simply, “Tell those close to you that you love them. Tell someone you care about that they make a difference in your life.”
Ruth will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Ferries, in the family plot at Stirling Cemetery.
