DRADER, Helen DRADER, Helen 1930 – 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Gloria Drader, (nee Batty, nee Longacre) at the Red Deer Hospice on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the age of 94 years. Helen was born in Retlaw, Alberta on April 16, 1930, where she spent her childhood years. At the age of fifteen, she started work as a Telephone Operator with Alberta Government Telephones. Then, after a few months, she moved to Picture Butte, Alberta, where she continued working with AGT until its closure. Helen married D’Arcy S. Batty in 1949 and raised seven children. When the youngest was four years old, she went back to AGT for a year, and also worked at the Picture Butte Hospital and Medical Clinic. Helen then went to Hairdressing School and opened Helen’s Beauty Salon, which was very successful for nine years. After selling her shop, Helen worked as a baker at the Lupin Gold Mine in Nunavut, Canada and Norman Wells, Northwest Territories. She then moved to Calgary, Alberta, where she worked as a Building Manager and in Administration at the Colonel Belcher Hospital. Helen remarried in 1990 to Jack Drader. After retiring, she took painting classes and became an accomplished artist. Helen and Jack were together until his passing in 2011, after which she moved to Red Deer. Her indomitable spirit and radiant smile will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Helen is survived by her sister, Lillian, and will be lovingly remembered by her seven children, Dale, June, Barton, Lorene, Carol, Kaylene, and Daryl, her nine grandchildren and her ten great grandchildren. Helen will also be sadly missed by her three stepchildren, Terry, Kevin, and Brad, her seventeen step grandchildren and her nineteen step great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her father, Fred and her mother, Ferol, her ten siblings, Fred, Louis, Leonard, Norman, Blanche, Eldora, Lila, Flora and Ethel and her stepson, Michael. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at http://www.parklandfuneralhome.com. WALKER, Zoe WALKER ZOE SKY WALKER passed away on October 16, 2024 in Chilliwack, B.C. at the age of 28 years.
A Wake service will be held at Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.
The Funeral Service will follow at Moses Lake Community Hall on Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve.

LAUERSDORF, Traute LAUERSDORF TRAUTE LAUERSDORF, passed away peacefully on October 31st, 2024 after a short stay in hospital, surrounded and cared for by her loving family and a wonderful team of doctors and nurses.
Traute was born in Lubeck, Germany on June 3rd, 1935 and immigrated to Canada in 1974 with her husband Werner and daughter Susanne.
Traute was predeceased by her husband, Werner, and her siblings: Jutta, Erika, and Kurt.
Traute is survived by her daughter Susanne Mueller (Karl) and her three grandchildren: Chris Mueller (Jennifer, and son Sebastian), Mark Mueller (Devonee, and daughter Audrey), and Martina Clark (Collin, and daughters Trinity, Taytum, Torey, and Tenley).
Traute found immense joy in spending time with her family and we were fortunate to be able to spend Oma’s last days with her. Oma will be greatly missed for her kindness, her honesty, her integrity, and her baking.
Traute’s family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at The View, the staff at Good Samaritan’s Park Meadows, Lethbridge Homecare, and the doctors and nurses at Chinook Regional Hospital for your compassionate care over the past few years (and especially in Oma’s last days). We sincerely thank you all.
At Oma’s request, a private ceremony will be held.

VAN UDEN, Petronella “Nellie” Van Uden, Petronella (Nellie) June 10, 1930 – November 3, 2024 Nellie Van Uden, beloved wife of the late John Van Uden passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 3, 2024, at the St. Michaels Palliative Care Centre, in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Her six children survive Nellie.
Peter (Connie) Van Uden of Lethbridge, and their children Josh (Shawna) Van Uden, and Amanda (Dave) Kimoto; Elizabeth (Peter) Walker of Calgary, and their children John Walker (Nicole Coolman), Michael Walker, and Melanie Walker; Brian (Susan) Van Uden of Calgary, and their children Matt (Vivienne) Maruno, and Lani Pickering (Aaron Sarafinchan); Diana (Richard) Hartford of Calgary, and their children Jack Hartford (Kennedy McDonough), and Will Hartford; Jackie (Marty) Piitz of Calgary, and their children Mark (Elise) Piitz, Derek Piitz (Colleen Manion), and Rachel Piitz (Bob Zinkan); Trish (Paul) Loman of Picture Butte, and their children Michele (Matt) Hammel, Ryan (Natalie) Loman, and Trevor Loman (Aliya Visscher), as well as her sixteen incredible great-grandchildren!
Nellie is survived by two brothers and two sisters in Holland and numerous nieces and nephews in Holland and Alberta. Nellie was predeceased by her husband John in 2006, and her grandson Daniel Van Uden in 1982.
Nellie was born in Holland in 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1955. She married John in 1955 in Coaldale. John and Nellie enjoyed many years of farming in Wrentham, Picture Butte, and Vauxhall before retiring to Lethbridge in 1995.
Nellie was a wonderful wife, mother, Oma, and great Oma who was loved by all. Her happiest moments were spending time with her family as they gathered for celebrations as a group of fifty-plus or just one-on-one with each of her children and grandchildren. Nellie also loved her friends, spending time playing cards or reminiscing about the old times. She was very social and spoke to everyone she connected with and forming great relationships with everyone. Everyone loved OMA!
Her strength, resilience, faith, and positivity were an inspiration that provided mentorship for all her family who will miss her terribly and remember her lovingly forever.
Prayers will be on November 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, with the funeral mass following on November 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church 2405 – 12 Avenue South. Lethbridge, Alberta.
The Family would like to thank the staff at the Seasons and all the friends she met there, as well as the lovely Home Care staff she met over the last five years.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. J. Andrews and all the caring staff on Unit 3B at the Lethbridge Chinook Regional Hospital for their amazing care and respect shown to Nellie and the family. Dr. Walters, Dr. Orr, and the staff at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre have also been incredible, making Mom’s stay there the best that anyone could ask for.
An incredibly special thank you to Dr. Anke Waller, Dr. Chris Waller, and their extended family members for being there for Mom; you are very dear to her and our family!

CAMPBELL, Donna CAMPBELL CAMPBELL, Donna Joyce (Kimery), passed away suddenly in Lethbridge, Alberta, on Monday, November 4, 2024 at the age of 85 years.
Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Larry. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son Jim (Pamela) Campbell, stepchildren Sandra (Ivan) Lang, Sharon (Ivan) Roberts, David (Tanya) Campbell and Sheila (Russ) Bell, along with 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also mourned by her brothers Bill (Pat) Kimery and Barry (Sharon) Kimery.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2213 6A Avenue North in Lethbridge, with Bishop Craig Roelofs officiating. Friends may meet the family at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Private interment in the Union Cemetery, Fort Macleod to follow.
