WICKENHEISER, Adeline Adeline Wickenheiser
1931 – 2025
Adeline Regina Wickenheiser, beloved wife of the late Gabe Wickenheiser, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the age of 93 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 6:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at http://www.southlandfuneral.com.

Adeline is survived by her children Darlene (Dave) Waddle of Taber, Dianne (Danny) Clarke of Coaldale, Joe (Cindy) Wickenheiser of Taber, Peggy (Louis) Foisy of Lethbridge and Loree (Tom) Rodwell of Taber; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

DUNSTAN, Katherine KATHERINE DUNSTAN 1929 – 2025 Katherine Dunstan (nee Reinheimer) of Lethbridge, passed away in the early morning hours on January 9, at the age of 95. She had been experiencing declining health for several months, and her loss is being, and will be, felt by all who knew and loved her.
Katherine was born to Christian and Caroline Reinheimer, on the family farm near Birmingham, Saskatchewan, the youngest of a total of 7 children. She had 3 brothers and 3 sisters, with whom she remained close throughout their lives. She grew up on the Prairies through the Depression, which had a great influence on her life, and the values she held.
Katherine met her husband James (Jim), and began married life in Melville, SK, before Jim’s various jobs moved them to Ponoka, Lethbridge, Prince Albert, Calgary, and then finally returning and settling in Lethbridge, where she resided for the remainder of her life, for more than 54 years. She had two sons, James (Jim Jr.), and Brent, to whom she was a loving and devoted mother.
Katherine’s faith in Jesus, and love for God was the guiding motivation in her life and she was very involved in Christian Women’s Clubs, in a variety of capacities, for well over 40 years. This included hosting and leading home Bible studies, speaking at their luncheons and dinners, being a Regional Representative, and serving as a member of the ministry’s Canadian National Board. She was also very active in the Evangelical Free Church in Lethbridge for well over 50 years, where she used her gifts and abilities to do everything from teaching Grade 1 Sunday School, to coordinating the lunches following funerals at the church for many, many years.
Katherine is survived by her sons Jim (Joanne) Dunstan, Brent (Mary Francis) Dunstan; grandchildren, Mark (Alison) Dunstan, Andrea (Blaine) Bohun, Ashley (Alex) Spellman; 6 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Violet (Ernest) Reinheimer.
Besides her husband Jim, Katherine was predeceased by her parents Christian and Caroline Reinheimer; brothers Adam, Ernest, and Walter; sisters, Eleanor (Nudd), Edith (Lowenberg), and Martha (Gilson); sisters-in-law Rosemarie and Louise; and brothers-in-law, Frank Lowenberg, David Nudd, and Kenneth Gilson.
Katherine’s family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and caregivers of St. Therese Villa, as well as the doctors, nurses, and various home care professionals, who cared for Katherine over the last few years.

CRAWFORD, David DAVID ANDREW CRAWFORD 1938 – 2025 Mr. David Crawford of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Ellen Crawford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the age of 86 years.

TYRER, Lydia LYDIA TYRER Lydia Mary Ann Tyrer, born in Lichfield, England on November 11, 1951, and passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025 at the age of 73. She moved to Canada in 1953 and was raised in Picture Butte and later graduated from Picture Butte High. This is where she met her high school sweetheart and soulmate, Doug Tyrer whom she married on November 21, 1970, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Lydia retired in Granum, AB, after dedicating much of her profession to administrative work.
Lydia had a love for fishing and camping, especially at Payne Lake, and she cherished traveling, cruises were among her favorite adventures.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Eva Piorkowski. She is survived by her beloved husband Doug and two daughters Tammy (Nathen) Rushforth of Ymir, BC and Tanya (Ryan) Miller of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her two sisters Sylvia French and Terry Millwater. Lydia had 6 grandchildren Dax, Zeva and Xane Rushforth; and Mikayla, Emily and Jamie Miller. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Sharon Tyrer.
In accordance with Lydia’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, and cremation will follow. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Cancer Society.

TIELAND, Doreen Doreen R.E.A Tieland 1942 – 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen R.E.A Tieland on Jan 4,2025, with family by her side. Doreen is predeceased by her parents, Carl and Alice Sund. She is survived by 4 children, Richard, Terry, Chris and Marion, along with 5 sisters and 4 brothers, as well as 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Doreen always had a smile for anyone who would stop by for a visit. Being disabled most of her life she found passion for her crafts and was a master at crocheting. The beautiful things she created over the years were amazing.
She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. A special thank you to the staff at the Prairie Ridge Good Samaritans Raymond who took such wonderful care of her.

CRAIK, William “Bill” CRAIK “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my Word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged, but has crossed over from death to life.” John 5:24 On Saturday, January 11, 2025, WILLIAM “BILL” ALEXANDER CRAIK, beloved husband of the late Christena Craik, left this earth in his 103rd year, and breathed his first breath of heaven. PARLEVLIET, Marinus PARLEVLIET MARINUS B. PARLEVLIET, of Lethbridge, very beloved husband of Jetty Parlevliet, passed away surrounded by his family at the St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit, on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the age of 72 years.
He is the loving father of: son Mike (Jenn) Parlevliet and their daughters, McKenna and Ainsley; daughter Carrie (Trevor) Visser and their kids, Carter and Payton; and daughter Tia (Jake) VanderHeide and their daughters, Hailey, Ruth and Kennedy, all of Coaldale. He is also survived by his sisters: Margaret Roscher of Kingston, ON, and Anne-Marie (John) DeBoer of IJsselmuiden, The Netherlands and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marinus and Janny Parlevliet; his in-laws, Pieter and Teresa deGraaf; his brothers-in-law, Rene Roscher, Paul Black and Dirk deGraaf, and his sister-in-law, Donna Cupido.
Marinus enjoyed a lifelong career in trucking, owning Mogus Transport for 35+ years. He was a hard-working provider for his family. When he was not on the road, he enjoyed making memories with his family camping and skiing. In his spare time, he loved to golf, and loved camping with his wife and grandkids, and watching their sports games. His positive “life is good” attitude was evident to all, and he lived a life of faith in the Lord. He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
A Funeral Service will be held at GRACE REFORMED CHURCH, 1402 – 8 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Paul Van Stralen officiating. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Marinus’ obituary on the Cornerstone website.
