HALE, Lena LENA HALE 1934 – 2025 It is with profound sadness and loss that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great- grandmother Lena Hale on March 13, 2025, at age 91. Lena passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit in Saskatoon.
Lena Breitkreitz was born in Rosetown, SK on January 29, 1934, the youngest of six children. Her early years were spent on the family farm before moving to Biggar and then attending Scott Business College in Saskatoon. After graduation, Lena went to work at Robin Hood where she met and then married Don Hale. Don’s work took him, Lena and their family on a journey across Canada from Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Montreal, St. John’s, Stratford and Lethbridge.
Lena and Don enjoyed 43 years in Lethbridge where Lena was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Henderson Lake Golf Club. First and foremost, Lena loved and was devoted to her children and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was rarely idle and gave all her energy and attention to every endeavour including being a talented artist and a superb cook. She also enjoyed music and twirling on the dance floor.
Lena is lovingly remembered and will be missed by daughters Brenda (Gordon) Jensen, Mona (Chris Barclay) Hale; grandsons Jonathan (Anna Clara) Jensen and Graham (Jannaya Friggstad) Jensen and great- granddaughter Solveig Lilja Jensen.
Lena is predeceased by her husband Don, who passed away in 2018. She was also predeceased by her two sisters and three brothers, and parents Fred and Emilia Breitkreitz.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, April 25, 2025, at THE LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD 2406 11 Ave S, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Tom Peterson, officiating.

CHAPMAN, Edward “Bob” CHAPMAN EDWARD “BOB” CHAPMAN of Lethbridge, AB, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the age of 82.
As per Bob’s request, a private family graveside will be held at a later date.

TOTH, Isabel TOTH Isabel Toth (Bannerman) passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. She is survived by her sons, Chris and Don, daughter-in-law, Jamie, two grandchildren, and her sisters, Marilyn and Kathy. She was predeceased by her parents, Andy and Martha.
Isabel was known for her quiet strength, quick wit, and a love for simple things. Her cookies and baked treats were always appreciated, but it was the care behind them that made them special.
She will be missed by her family and friends, remembered for her humor, sweet treats, and the comfort of being truly herself.

SAKAMOTO, Dwight DWIGHT SAKAMOTO 1952 – 2025 It is with great sadness that the family of Dwight Susumu Sakamoto, of Lethbridge, announces his passing on April 23, 2025, at the age of 72 years, with his family at his side.
He is survived by his brother and best friend, Nelson of Lethbridge, sister Michelle (Bob Brown) of Calgary, nieces Kiara, Sage, and Calista Brown. He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Amy, and brother, Neal.
Dwight was born on June 28, 1952, in Taber, AB. He briefly lived in Calgary, then moved to Lethbridge where he resided until his passing. He helped manage the seed plant in Canbra Foods until his retirement.
Dwight was a hardworking, caring and generous person, always thinking of others before himself. He adored his nieces and was there to celebrate all their milestones in life.
In keeping with Dwight’s final wishes, there will be an intimate graveside service for family and friends. Taber Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Service details to follow.
