By Lethbridge Herald Obituaries on December 9, 2025.

REAMSBOTTOM, Daniel REAMSBOTTOM Daniel Arthur Reamsbottom, beloved husband of Mary Reamsbottom of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on December 6, 2025, at the age of 71.
He is also the loving father and grandfather of two children and two grandchildren: Madison (Marco) and their daughter Clémence, of London, England; Tiffany (Adam) and their son Mason, of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
Daniel is survived by his brothers Bill (Chris), Tim (Nancy), David (Kate), and Terry (Sandra), along with their families. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Aranka, her husband Paul, and his wife’s siblings and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Adele Reamsbottom, his sister Betty Christmas, and her husband David, along with many other family members.
Born in Taber, Alberta on March 31, 1954, he was the third child of a large family, who shaped so much of who he became. For many dedicated years, he walked the halls of Catholic Central High School – a silent testament to steady purpose. His kindness and willingness to help others left a profound, lasting impression on those who knew him.
He carried a lifelong sense of curiosity and creativity, often found tinkering with new ideas or creating small gadgets to share with those around him. He found joy in life’s simple gifts – the tranquility of the outdoors, the rhythm of a guitar, laughing with friends, camping under the stars, and patiently working on his car.
Inclusivity was a core value for Dan. He was always there to offer support and understanding to many people and friends throughout his life. His warm compassion was something that came naturally and was felt by many.
Getting lost in the pages of a good book was something Dan loved to do. Often found reading late into the evening, at the kitchen table with a bowl of cereal and faithful pets around him. He enjoyed sharing his love of reading with his girls, often taking them to the public library to get lost among the bookcases, while discovering his next best read.
He was deeply devoted to animals throughout his life. Over the years, many dogs, cats, and grand-dogs became part of his world, each bringing him a silent joy and companionship. He cared for them deeply, and the bond he shared with them was unmistakable. We take comfort in imagining him now, warmly welcomed by the pets who passed before him – faithful companions running toward him to guide and comfort him on his way to join his family and friends.
He will be remembered for his warmth, his creativity, and the quiet but meaningful ways he cared for the people and animals who were important to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date (to be announced).
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lethbridge & District Humane Society or Ability Resource Association.
