By Lethbridge Herald Obituaries on December 10, 2025.
REAMSBOTTOM, Daniel REAMSBOTTOM Daniel Arthur Reamsbottom, beloved husband of Mary Reamsbottom of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on December 6, 2025, at the age of 71.
He is also the loving father and grandfather of two children and two grandchildren: Madison (Marco) and their daughter Clémence, of London, England; Tiffany (Adam) and their son Mason, of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
Daniel is survived by his brothers Bill (Chris), Tim (Nancy), David (Kate), and Terry (Sandra), along with their families. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Aranka, her husband Paul, and his wife’s siblings and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Adele Reamsbottom, his sister Betty Christmas, and her husband David, along with many other family members.
Born in Taber, Alberta on March 31, 1954, he was the third child of a large family, who shaped so much of who he became. For many dedicated years, he walked the halls of Catholic Central High School – a silent testament to steady purpose. His kindness and willingness to help others left a profound, lasting impression on those who knew him.
He carried a lifelong sense of curiosity and creativity, often found tinkering with new ideas or creating small gadgets to share with those around him. He found joy in life’s simple gifts – the tranquility of the outdoors, the rhythm of a guitar, laughing with friends, camping under the stars, and patiently working on his car.
Inclusivity was a core value for Dan. He was always there to offer support and understanding to many people and friends throughout his life. His warm compassion was something that came naturally and was felt by many.
Getting lost in the pages of a good book was something Dan loved to do. Often found reading late into the evening, at the kitchen table with a bowl of cereal and faithful pets around him. He enjoyed sharing his love of reading with his girls, often taking them to the public library to get lost among the bookcases, while discovering his next best read.
He was deeply devoted to animals throughout his life. Over the years, many dogs, cats, and grand-dogs became part of his world, each bringing him a silent joy and companionship. He cared for them deeply, and the bond he shared with them was unmistakable. We take comfort in imagining him now, warmly welcomed by the pets who passed before him – faithful companions running toward him to guide and comfort him on his way to join his family and friends.
He will be remembered for his warmth, his creativity, and the quiet but meaningful ways he cared for the people and animals who were important to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date (to be announced).
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lethbridge & District Humane Society or Ability Resource Association.

JASPERSON, Clifford JASPERSON Clifford Kenneth Jasperson, age 91, of Cardston, Alberta, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025. He was born on February 27, 1934, to Andrew and Marie Jasperson. Cliff was the second youngest of five children and was raised on a ranch near Woolford, Alberta. With his family, he helped establish Jasperson Farming Ltd., raising Hereford and Angus cattle and growing alfalfa, barley, and hay. They grew the ranch to nearly 4,000 acres and supported up to 500 head of cattle at their peak. After the family sold the Woolford ranch, Cliff continued ranching independently near Leavitt, Alberta, until selling the farm upon retirement.
In addition to ranching, Cliff worked as a heavy-duty equipment operator at the St. Mary’s Dam for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He later ran his own handyman business for more than a decade and was a self-taught, highly skilled carpenter and worked on many properties in southern Alberta.
Cliff was the most devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, known for his incredible work ethic, generosity, and willingness to help others. He had a great sense of humour, earning him many friends, and could be counted on to deliver legendary one-liners. In his later years, despite challenges with severe short-term memory loss and dementia, he remained witty, positive and was affectionately known as “Mr. Charming” at the Lethbridge Seniors Lodge where he resided for the past 9 months.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Connie Jasperson; children Cliff (Sandra) Jasperson, Rachelle (Walter) Foley, Stacey (George) McDonald, Jodi (Robin) Bratz, and Heidi (Kimball) Lacey; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to your local food bank, in Cliff’s spirit of generosity.

LEIER, Philip “Phil” PHILIP “PHIL” LEIER 1932 ~ 2025 PHILIP DONALD LEIER, beloved husband of the late Evelyn Susie (Thomas) Leier, and a very dear and loving father, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the age of 93 years.
Philip the eldest of three siblings, was born the son of a Jeweler Anthony Roy (Zella) Leier in Regina, Saskatchewan, and is survived by brother David (Linda) Leier, and sons Dale Philip (Jackie) Leier, Donald James Leier; daughter Teresa Jean Leier; grandchildren Brandon Blake Leier, Michael Shaun (Kellee) Leier; great grandchildren Aiden Trevor Michael Kruse, Camryn Grace Leier, a bun in the oven, family pooch Charlotte Elizabeth Leier, and his friends.
In his younger years, Philip enjoyed working with his father in the Jewelry business and the repair of watches and never looked back. A hard worker never without employment, Philip experienced several family relocations, which found him moving from Regina to Edmonton, to Calgary, and eventually to Lethbridge as a teenage boy when he found employment at Enerson Motors and met the love of his life, Evelyn, whom he would spend the next 70 years with. Phil also worked as an electrician for Bruce Robinson Electric, eventually finding lifelong career employment with the Federal Government as a Public Servant with Customs Canada. It was with this job that Phil would work the next 35 years to a full retirement.
Phil enjoyed many outdoor sports such as golf, hunting, and fishing, along with many hobbies and skills he developed along the way, such as gunsmithing, building fishing rods, and many other accomplishments too numerous to list. Philip had many very dear friends he cherished, but none more than lifelong friends considered to be family, Doran Johnson, Steve Tollestrup, and Douglas Clark, with whom he would make the daily pit stop at 7-11 for a “BIG GULP”. Lifelong best friends Gordon Bowden, Garry Kohn, and William ‘Bill’ Baker were also considered to be part of Phil’s extended family.
Phil was a very devoted family man and was very close to his brother and sister. Phil worked hard at maintaining a very close relationship with his brother, David Leier, and sister, Marlene Blumel, making numerous frequent trips to visit his siblings and extended family living in British Columbia.
Philip is predeceased by his parents and sister, Marlene Rose (George) Blumel.
Phil’s love of life, family, and friends can only be eclipsed by his willingness to give rather than receive, and he has touched the lives of a great many people with his time in this world. He will be dearly, and forever missed by family, friends and loved ones.
Forever in our hearts, rest in peace Dad.
A Celebration of Phil’s Life will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Interment to follow in the Royal View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects prior to the service at 11:00AM.
