Born on September 27, 1931, in Wilno, Poland, Jadwiga’s early life was shaped by hardship as she was a survivor of a forced labour camp in Germany during the Second World War. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Mary Fakir; daughters Rose (Glen) Piattelli, Annie Baumback, and Katharine (Kevin) Nugent; five cherished grandchildren Kevin, Craig, Paul, Stephanie and Samantha and four adored great-grandchildren Hazel, Lily, Emilie and Olive.
A faithful Catholic, Jadwiga lived her life guided by prayer and trust in God’s will. She found joy in dancing, fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humour, a generous heart, and a quiet strength that uplifted those around her.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at ST. BASIL’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the Canadian Red Cross.
