GREEN, Olive OLIVE AUDREY GREEN 1930 – 2025 Olive Audrey Green passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the age of 94 years.
Mom is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Charles) Clark of Edmonton, Sandra (Paul) Coe of Lethbridge; her son Andrew (Nina) Green of Delta, BC, and six grandchildren (Duane and Jeffrey Clark, Michael and Derek Sordi, Christopher and Rachel Green) as well as numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Olive was born on November 27, 1930, in Doncaster, Yorkshire, England, to Herbert and Sarah Butler. She was the eldest of three daughters. From a young age, Olive enjoyed art and music, and she continued these hobbies throughout her life. It was through music that Mom and Dad met while playing violin in a youth orchestra. They married in 1955 and soon after immigrated to Canada, settling in the Toronto area, and then in Lethbridge in 1978.
Mom pursued her interest in art, joining various arts guilds /clubs in Toronto, Mississauga, and then Lethbridge. She was a long-standing member of the Lethbridge visual arts community, including board member of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Association and Alberta Foundation for the Arts. A painter in watercolours and acrylic, her work is enjoyed in numerous private collections as well as in the University of Lethbridge and Alberta Foundation for the Arts permanent collections. Mom and Dad were also long-time supporters of the Lethbridge Symphony Association.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Peter in 2013, parents Herbert and Sarah Butler, and sisters Mabel Shaw and Julia Butler Plewes.
A special thank you to the healthcare team at St Therese Villa for Mom’s exceptional care during the final three years of her life.

TSUKISHIMA, Keiko “Kay” TSUKISHIMA Keiko (Kay) Tsukishima, beloved wife of Tsutomu (Tom) Tsukishima, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the age of 91.

MALMBERG, Kim KIM ROY MALMBERG June 19, 1958 – December 27, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kim Malmberg on December 27, 2025, at the age of 67 years old.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years Shelly; his son Roger (Karmyn); his daughter Christina (Dane); his grandchildren Veronica (Colby) and Joey; his step grandchildren Hesston, Payton, Kendal and Mady; his mother Jessie; his brother Raymond (Cathy); his sister-in -law Linda Watmough; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Edward Malmberg; his father-in-law James Watmough; mother-in-law Louise Watmough; and his brothers-in-law Randy Watmough and Barry Watmough.
Kim had a great love for family, fishing, camping and woodworking. He will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Picture Butte Senior Centre (607 Hwy Avenue North, Picture Butte, AB T0K 1V0).

WILSON, Shirley Shirley Wilson
1936 – 2025
The family of Shirley Edna Wilson, are saddened to announce her passing in Lethbridge on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the age of 89 years, following her struggle with dementia.
Shirley is survived by her children Beverly Wilson (Peter Cordingley) of Edmonton, Darren (Jodi) Wilson of Bow Island, Diane (Phil) Lodermeier of Lethbridge and Brad Wilson of Bow Island; her grandchildren Ryan (Cass) Lodermeier, Jessi Wilson (Duran Matson), Josh (Kass) Wilson, Claire Cordingley (Nathan Chu) and Elliott Cordingley; great grandchildren Maverick Matson, Beau Lodermeier, Bowden Wilson and Scottie Matson. She is also survived by her sisters Marlene(Art) Furlong and Myrna Granberg; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Carol Wilson and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her mother-in-law Hilda Wilson, her daughter-in-law Jackie Wilson and by her grandson Doug Wilson.
Shirley was born on April 19, 1936, to Fred and Jean Faust in Sonningdale, Saskatchewan, the middle sister of Marlene and Myrna. Their family lived in several towns around Saskatchewan before moving to Coutts in 1948. Shirley graduated from Coutts School in 1954 and married Bill Wilson on October 13, 1956. They had four children.
In 1963, the family settled in Bow Island. Shirley was a homemaker until her youngest child started school. She was an accomplished sewer, making clothes for her children and herself. She worked as the typist for the local newspaper – the Bow Island 40 Mile County Commentator, as a librarian at St. Michael’s School before eventually retiring from her position as the Family and Community Support Services coordinator with the Town of Bow Island in 2003.
Shirley was well known for her volunteer work in Bow Island which included being named Volunteer of the Year in 1982. She was actively involved with several sports organizations, as well as the local UCW (United Church Women). She volunteered at the Tourist Information Centre and helped with the town’s hundredth anniversary committee. She was a lifelong sports fan, watching hockey, baseball and curling to the end.
Then there was Girl Guides. After being volunteered to be leader by her daughter in 1968, Shirley went on to hold many positions in Guiding including Girl Guide leader, Pathfinder leader and Camp Advisor. As a leader, Shirley had a positive impact on hundreds of girls and women throughout her Guiding life. She attended many camps, including several international camps in Cape Breton and the United Kingdom. Shirley received many Guiding awards, culminating with an Honourary Life Membership. She had many life long friendships made through Guiding. She was an active member of the Cypress Hills Trefoil Guild until she moved to Lethbridge. She was proud of her daughter Bev and granddaughter Claire for carrying on the Guiding tradition.

NOWLIN, Everett “Evy” EVERETT “EVY” NOWLIN 1940 ~ 2025 Everett “Evy” Wayne Nowlin, of Lundbreck, Alberta, loving husband to Patricia Nowlin, passed away at the Pincher Creek Health Center on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the age of 85 years. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his friends and family.

KRAWCZYK, Irena KRAWCZYK With profound sadness, the family of Irena Krawczyk announces her sudden passing at 1:50 a.m. on December 7, 2025, at the age of 83, at Tudor Manor Senior Care Facility in Okotoks, Alberta. Born on June 7, 1942, Irena lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and deep devotion to her family and Polish community.
For more than twenty years, Irena worked in the CSR department at St. Michael’s Hospital in Lethbridge, remaining there until its closure in 1996. Her dedication, reliability, and kindness left a lasting impression on colleagues.
Alongside her husband, Stanley, Irena later opened Mr. Greenthumb Greenhouses, where together they cultivated and shared some of the most beautiful flowers enjoyed by residents and businesses throughout Lethbridge and the surrounding area. Her love of flowers extended to her own home garden, where she and her husband Stanley, spent countless joyful hours tending to plants, harvesting produce, and filling jars with homemade preserves crafted from their homegrown vegetables and fruits.
Irena’s home was always a place of welcome. She had a remarkable gift for hospitality, often opening her door to Polish newcomers and helping them settle into life in Lethbridge. Her warmth, generosity, and steady presence touched many lives.
She also cherished the outdoors. Camping, fishing, mushroom picking, and gathering wild berries were among her favourite pastimes – simple pleasures that brought her peace and connection to nature alongside Stanley.
Irena is lovingly remembered by her son Peter Krawczyk; her daughter Anne Hale; her sister Maria Lazar; her brother Victor Januszewski and his wife Lise; and her cherished granddaughter Aleksandra Krawczyk. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley.
A memorial to honour Irena’s life will be held in June 2026. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and Dr. Faye at Tudor Manor in Okotoks for the compassionate care they provided to Irena, and to the staff of Snodgrass Funeral Home in Okotoks/High River for their support and guidance during this difficult time.
Her family will forever remember her strength, her kindness, and the beauty she brought into the world – both through her gardens and through the way she lived her life with her husband Stanley.

FEKETE, Louis “Lou” LOUIS “LOU” JOHN FEKETE February 22, 1938 – January 3, 2026 It is with great sorrow and love to announce that Louis “Lou” John Fekete passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at the age of 87.
Lou was born on February 22, 1938, in Lethbridge, Alberta, to Vera and John Fekete. Lou grew up on a farm in West Lethbridge, where he developed a strong work ethic and practical skills that would guide him throughout his life.
He attended Coalhurst High School, where he excelled academically and athletically, particularly in track and baseball. Following High School, Lou earned his Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Calgary.
After completing his studies, he returned to Lethbridge to begin a long and meaningful teaching career. Lou taught Industrial Arts Education for one year at W.P. Meyers School, and at Wilson Junior High School for over 30 years, where he was respected by colleagues and remembered by students for his dedication, patience, and hands on approach to learning.
In 1965, Lou married Barbara Carol Nicol, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted for 60 years, until his passing. Together they raised two children, Shari Lynn, born in 1966, and Michael James, born in 1969.
Lou had a lifelong passion for fast cars and racing. In 1967, he joined the SAAR organization where his skill and competitiveness of racing stock cars quickly led to an impressive collection of trophies over many years. Lou’s love for racing became a family lifestyle and his brothers-in-law also joined the racing club due to their admiration and enthusiasm gained by watching Lou race.
Outside of racing, Lou was a devoted husband and father. He generously volunteered his time with many local organizations and sports teams, where he supported his children in hockey, soccer, and figure skating. His willingness to always help others also led to him to donate over 170 blood donations with Red Cross and Canadian Blood Services.
Summers were always spent camping, travelling with family and friends, and driving out to the coast to spend time with his grandchildren. Lou was always up to the challenge of keeping up with his children and grandchildren enjoying activities like swimming, boating, snorkeling, bike riding, hiking the coulees, skiing, and riding snowmobiles.
Lou’s love for adventure and curiosity took over after retirement, with he and Barb traveling to more than 65 countries around the world, exploring historical sites and meeting interesting people. He loved being outdoors, whether he was soaking up the sun on vacation, working on his garden, or helping his neighbours shovel snow in the winter. Because of his career teaching shop classes, he was an expert at woodworking, home renovations, and loved spending time building and fixing things in his garage.
Lou will be remembered as the most kind and gentle man who would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it. His lighthearted nature and sense of humor would make everyone around him smile and feel at ease.
Lou resided in Edmonton at the time of his passing, allowing him to be closer to his family. Lou was predeceased by his parents, Vera and John Fekete; brother, Joseph Fekete; niece, Lori Fekete; parents-in-law, Barbara and James Nicol; brothers-in-law, Tom Nicol and Dick Kerber; sister-in-law, Ferrol Nicol; and nephew, Kyle Nicol.
Lou will lovingly be remembered by: his wife, Barbara; children, Shari (Russ) Cronk, Mike Fekete; grandchildren: Liam and Logan Cronk, Mya and Jayda Fekete; as well as extended family members including: brothers-in-law, Brian and Reg Nicol; sisters-in-law: Yvonne Kerber, Carol Fekete, Bonnie Nicol; nieces: Carol, Patricia, Brenda, Kim, Stefanie, Lindsay; nephews: Grant, Jim, Brent, Josh; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

RABUSIC, Marie MARIE RABUSIC 1926 ~ 2025 It is with great sadness the family announces her passing on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at St. Therese Villa at the age of 99 years. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Rabusic, along with numerous nephews and nieces and extended families. She was predeceased by her brother Frank and her parents Frank & Helen Rabusic.
Marie was born January 23, 1926, in Kostice, Czechoslovakia. At the age of three, she emigrated to Canada with her parents and brother, eventually settling in the Raymond area. Her family started out working the sugar beet fields for the Walkers and eventually purchased their own farm.
After completing her schooling in Welling, she moved to Lethbridge and took her first job at St. Michael’s Hospital as a tray girl. In 1952, she took a job in Lethbridge with Taylor Pearson Carson, eventually transferring to the Calgary office where she became Office Manager.
In 1980, she retired and moved back to Lethbridge to look after her mother. She took a part time job at the post office and eventually found something that she loved to do: selling Avon products. She was very successful with it, building up a sizeable clientele and earning several awards.
Marie had a wonderful singing voice, joining the choir and eventually became the head of the Catholic Resurrection Choir as well as a soloist. She volunteered at numerous venues entertaining residents.
Marie touched the lives of many over the course of her 99 years and will be sadly missed, she valued time spent with family and friends.
The family would like to thank her many neighbors who countlessly offered their assistance and time to her. Also, a special thank you to the compassionate staff at St. Therese Villa, St. Michael’s Health Care Center, and the staff at Lethbridge Home Care.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, January 12, 2026, at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12 Ave S, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Kevin Tumback officiating.

WEASEL FAT, Bertha WEASEL FAT Kiimataakii – Bertha Petronella Weasel Fat, born March 13, 1948 to Dick Wells and Katie Wells nee Bullshields on the Blood Indian Reserve, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026 in Cardston, AB surrounded by her children, grandchildren and family. Bertha is survived by her children Vanessa (Colin), Danny, Heidi, Beth (Darryl); her grandchildren Jace, Cammie (Dax), Brady, Conrad, Katelyn (Zack), Kira (Iron); Jawon, Jalyn, Hayden; Rylie, Bryton, Ryder, Daneve; Great-grandchildren Brekken, Braylee, Elia May, Silas; her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Geraldine Wells, sister/niece Judy Fox, and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Jason Weasel Fat, Granddaughter Mikayla Tay; parents Dick and Katie Wells; Brother, Luke Wells and Sister-In-Law Sarah Wells; Sisters Patricia and Jeanette Wells. Mom attended the St. Mary’s Indian Residential School. She would reminisce about the school activities, which were enjoyable times for her; she was also a member of the girls basketball team, joking about her position as benchwarmer. Mom continued her education at Medicine Hat College where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her final endeavor brought her to Lac La Biche where she graduated from the Community Health Representative program from the Lac La Biche College. Mom cared for her community over many years in her career as a nurse and CHR. She cared for our elderly and young at the Blood Indian Hospital and as a nurse with the Victorian Order of Nurses in Lethbridge to the community in her roles in Community Health with the Blood Tribe Department of Health. Kiimataakii loved her community, her patients and her clients. She could tell you who was immunized, who should get immunized, who was having or had a baby and she drove through varying road and weather conditions to carry out her care. Mom was proud of her driving ability she’d say, “I got my Class 2 on my first try” she was also our bus driver during her maternity leave terms and had mad driving skills as a result. Over the years she was an avid hockey mom to Jason and Danny; we toured many arenas in our younger years and built lifelong relationships through hockey. She was a great supporter of her grandchildren’s activities and would attend a variety of events like hockey, basketball, volleyball, track and field, and concerts as her health allowed. The family of Bertha would like to thank Dr. Shey Eagle Bear, Kainai Continuing Care – Long Term Center, her Home Care Nurse Jody Shouting, the Cardston Hospital ER and Acute care nurses. We greatly appreciate all their care for our mother. A Wake Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Blood Reserve on Monday January 12 from 6:00 – 10:00 pm. The Funeral service will also be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Tuesday, January 13 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve.

WATERHOUSE, Ruth Ruth Lorraine Waterhouse October 1, 1937 – January 4, 2026 With hearts full of enduring love and wonderful memories we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Lorraine Waterhouse on January 4, 2026, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease and a brief final illness.
Ruth is lovingly remembered by her sons, grandchildren, extended family and a lifetime of friends. She is survived by three of her sons, John (Kathleen), Gordon (Lorna) and David (Aleighzja) and is predeceased by her son Ken. Ruth is beloved and remembered by 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Ruth is predeceased by her parents, John Lawrence and Mary Emerald Phillips, her son Kenneth Earl Waterhouse (Gloria) and by her siblings, Lawrence Earl Phillips (Gerry), Kenneth Lee Phillips (Yvonne) and survived by her sister Ruby.
Ruth Lorraine Phillips was born in the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge Alberta on October 1, 1937. A twin and the fourth child of John and Mary Phillips. Her early life was lived in the Lethbridge Northern, Picture Butte, Stirling and Lethbridge. She often talked about loving her visits to Grandpa and Grandma Anderson’s home and playing around the chicken coop. Her family moved to Michigan during the second world war where her parents worked on opposite shifts in a gear factory. Upon her return to Lethbridge she lived in the family home on 9th avenue and continued her education graduating from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute.
She married and began a family in Lethbridge with her first three sons being born in four years. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and also worked outside the home. Her fourth son was born in 1966 and the family moved to Edmonton in 1968. She became a single Mom in 1970 and focused on providing for her family financially, raising her sons in the church and supporting them in their various sports and other interests. She also went back to school and obtained a Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Alberta and began a teaching career in Edmonton.
With her sons making their way with their families in various locations in Alberta, Texas and Nevada, Ruth moved back to Lethbridge to be with her Mother in her later years and decided to stay for the last 26 years. She built a home in the Mountain Heights neighbourhood in West Lethbridge that became the connecting point for her family and the place where her grandchildren got to know her, sometimes live with her, share experiences with her and build bonds of love that are forever.
She always served faithfully in her various callings in the church and built lifelong friendships wherever she served, lived and worked. She was ever grateful to see her sons serve missions, marry and start families of their own, and then cherish the grandchildren and great grandchildren that came along. She loved all of them with all her heart.
As a family we love, honour and celebrate her life and the eternal blessing she is to each of us and also express gratitude to those who loved and blessed her with their friendship as she travelled this mortal life’s path.
Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend, she brought and gave love, laughter, joy and life to her eternal family who she dedicated her life’s purpose to with all her heart and soul – and will continue to do so – Forever!
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 560 Highlands Blvd West, Lethbridge, Alberta , T1J 4X1. There will be a viewing at 10 AM, funeral service at 11:00 AM, a luncheon to follow at 12:00 PM and the internment at the Mountainview Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

ADAMS, Rodney ADAMS RODNEY STUART ADAMS, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Linda Adams, passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the age of 74 years.
Rodney is the loving father of Yana (Troy) of Kimberley, BC, Jamie (Shawn) of Lethbridge and Levi of Lethbridge, as well as three grandchildren.

NIKKEL, Gail GAIL NIKKEL 1953 ~ 2026 Gail Susan Nikkel (nee Sleightholm), born August 19, 1953, of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on January 3, 2026. She went to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 72 after a long battle with cancer.
Gail was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta, to parents William (Bill) and Shirley Sleightholm. She married Harvey Nikkel on September 21, 1974. After living in Lethbridge for 11 years, they moved to the farm outside of Coaldale until their retirement in 2019, when they moved back to Lethbridge. Gail enjoyed teaching Sunday School, girls’ club, and Bible Time, as well as volunteering as a camp counselor. Gail was an administrator for several businesses over the years and loved working with seniors at the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale before retiring due to health issues.
There were many memories made with family while camping, as she loved being in the outdoors. Trips to Hawaii, Florida, California, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico were also filled with unique experiences. A special trip to Israel in 2019 was one of the most rewarding and cherished times for her. A recent special memory was celebrating Harvey & Gail’s 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2024 with family and friends. Gail made many friends with her sharp wit and smile, as well as with her generosity of gifts and time. Her grandchildren had a special place in her heart, and she loved reading Bible stories to them. She had a unique ability to remember people’s birthdays and anniversaries and send them cards. Gail took pride in growing an amazing flower garden every year.
Her other interests included baking, playing card games, and hosting family gatherings.
Gail is lovingly remembered by her husband, Harvey, and their children, Kevin (Evie) Nikkel (Micah, Levi, Olivia), Roberta Nikkel, and Deanna (Peter) Fast (Judah, Naomi, Meira); sister Peggy (Ron) McKitrick and their children; sister-in-law Lien Sleightholm and her children, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gail was predeceased by her parents, Bill (William) Sleightholm and Shirley Sleightholm, brother William Sleightholm Jr., and sister Leslie Hagan.
We would like to say a special thank you to the staff at St. Michael’s Health Centre-Palliative Care Unit and Good Samaritan Society (Park Meadows Village) for their exceptional care during her final months.
A Celebration of Gail’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Gary Dupuis officiating.

BOYCHUK, Peter BOYCHUK It is with sadness that the family of PETER BOYCHUK, beloved husband, brother and uncle, announce his peaceful passing at his residence in Lethbridge on the evening of Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the age of 94 years.
Peter is lovingly remembered by his wife Rosalina (Sally) Boychuck; and his brother Edward Boychuk.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Nelly, and his brother, Victor Boychuk.
Peter was born on June 20, 1931 in Lethbridge, AB. He spent his working life farming in Coaldale, Alberta. In January 2008, he married Rosalina Nobel (Sally), and together they made their home in Lethbridge for 17 years, where they lived on Greenview Close. Early last year, Peter, together with his wife, Sally, moved to the Good Samaritan West Highland Centre.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the caring staff of Good Samaritan West Highland Centre for their compassion and dedication to Peter during his final days, and for their continued care of Sally. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to Benjie and Rina Aquino for their invaluable support and kindness over the years.
A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. with Deacon Jim Manzara officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating.
Following the Funeral Mass, Peter will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery.

HUBER, Pauline “Paula” HUBER PAULINE “PAULA” HUBER, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Peter Huber, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the age of 95 years.
