BEVAN, Edith “Lu” BEVAN, Edith “Lu” 1926 – 2025 Leslie, Bruce and Sandre are saddened to announce the passing of their Mom, Luellen “Lu” Bevan, on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 99 years. We are grateful that she is now at peace. Mom was born on April 28, 1926 in Banff, Alberta to Jack and Nellie Martin. She was the youngest of four children and spent an idyllic childhood hiking, riding her bike and just being in nature, something she enjoyed throughout her life. After graduating from high school Mom went to Winnipeg, Manitoba to receive her Teaching Degree and spent several years teaching Home Economics in Dauphin, Manitoba. She was a loving mother to her four children and found great joy in growing beautiful flowers in her garden. At the age of 80, she hiked 18 km with her children to visit Luellen Lake in Banff National Park. The lake was named after her the year that she was born. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Gordon; her parents; her brother, Ted and her sisters, Grace and Muriel. She is survived by her three children, Leslie (Garry), Bruce (Charlene), Sandre and her daughter in law Pat. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Ed (Chantele), Eric (Kirstie), Alyssa (Brody), and Carly (Kaden); along with five great-grandchildren, Sierra, Haylie, Hayden, Bennett and Alexis as well as a new great-grandchild due this year. The family will have a private celebration of life in Banff in the spring. If desired, in honour of Lu, the family would be grateful if you would consider making a donation to your local food bank.
RANDA, Gary GARY RANDA 1964 ~ 2026 Mr. Gary Randa of Lethbridge passed away unexpectedly, at home on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the age of 61 years.
Gary is survived by his daughters whom he loved dearly Abby and Gracie; grandson Weston who was his pride and joy; dad Bill Randa; sister Shelley Thom; nephew Adam Thom and by the mother of his daughters Sandra Randa; close cousin Mike Balaz (Kelly Morton); niece Amanda Balaz; cousins Deb and Dion Roth; in-laws Andy, Lily and Susan Karkus; partner Michelle Mutter as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
He was predeceased by his mom Angie in 2019; brother-in-law Gerard Thom in 2017 and his close cousin Frank Vaclav in 2022.
Gary was born October 10, 1964 in Lethbridge and spent his childhood growing up on the family farm by Park Lake, just down the road from his cousins Mike Balaz and Frank Vaclav. He spent a lot of time with his cousins fishing, biking, farming and then later on in their teen years, drag racing. Gary went to school in Coalhurst his entire life and then later went to SAIT where he graduated with his heavy-duty mechanics license while working at Lethbridge Diesel.
Gary met Sandra in 1988 and they got married in 1991. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters Abby (1998) and Gracie (2001). Gary loved spending time with his family camping, boating and vacationing every summer.
In 1992 Gary realized his true passion was trucking so he and Sandra started Randa Transport. Mike joined him as his first lease operator in 1994, followed by Frank 3 years later. He then hired more lease operators and bought more trucks as the business continued to grow over the years to a current total of 34 trucks/lease operators with the help of his dispatcher and best friend of 25 years, Kelly Morton. Gary, Mike and Frank all worked together until Frank’s passing in November 2022. Gary and Mike continued to work together right up until the day of Gary’s passing.
Gary also had a passion for collecting vehicles. His favorites were old Chevy and GMC trucks, muscle cars, Corvettes and old collector tractors. One of his prized possessions was his 1997 Prevost bus that he enjoyed using for road trips.
The highlight of Gary’s life was when he became a grandpa to Weston in March 2024. He loved taking him boating, playing with hot wheels, taking him on road trips and spending time with him at his shop introducing Weston to his car and toy collection.
Family and friends are invited to a come and go viewing for Gary at 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, February 6, 2026 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPELS, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

MARTIN, Wayne MARTIN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of WAYNE R D MARTIN on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the age of 83 years.
Wayne was born on January 12, 1943 at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was adopted into the loving family of John and Mary Martin of Winnipeg, Manitoba. In June 1964 Wayne left Manitoba to discover the West. He lived in Calgary for a few years where he met the love of his life, Sheila, when he sold her a set of pots and pans (he waited until they were paid off before they started dating!). They were married September 3, 1966 in Claresholm and resided in Prince George, B.C. for three years before moving back to Alberta. They then lived in Calgary for 10 years where they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Stacey and Julie. In May of 1978 they moved from Calgary to Coaldale when Wayne was transferred from the Spy Hill jail to the Lethbridge jail where he worked as a jail guard for many years before moving to the CAPS program at the Lethbridge Court House. Wayne had several different jobs over his life from selling pots and pans, driving a hostess truck selling chips all across B.C., selling sporting goods, to finally working for the Alberta Solicitor General’s Dept. for 28.5 years before retiring in January of 2000.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife Sheila, his daughters Stacey (Bryan) Kluczny and Julie (Troy) Ormann, grandsons Nicholas Kluczny and Alexander Kluczny, and Brayden (Lauren) Ormann and Cole (Chalissa) Ormann; his half siblings Doreen, Yvonne, Ken,and Myles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Martin and sister Minerva Coleman.
Wayne had a lot of amazing friends; shout out to his friend/work colleague Gary Kelly for all the amazing years of friendship and being his hunting/fishing buddy, and to another great work friend Karl Samuels for always keeping in touch and checking in on him. Special thanks to Marcia and Terry Talcott from Cascade, Montana who were amazing friends they met and kept in touch with from their Snowbird days, it was so wonderful for Dad to have another amazing fishing buddy for the winter months, you were both cherished.
Special thanks to all the staff at St. Therese Villa where they were absolutely amazing to our dad, from his day-to-day care when he first arrived to the final end of life care the last few days.
In Wayne’s words “I have had a great life, lots of hunting and fishing, time in the outdoors and a beautiful family to make life worthwhile. I’ve been most fortunate to be so blessed. So long for now!”
Wayne’s wish is that there be no formal service. As a family we will be sprinkling his ashes in his favorite places at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to Parkinson’s research (www.parkinson.ca) or to STARS (www.stars.ca).
