SCOUT-BASTIEN, Kathy Kathy Marie Scout-Bastien Saatsitapiaaki – “Keeper of Children Woman” June 21, 1970 – February 4, 2026 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy, of Piikani Nation, on February 4, 2026. Kathy leaves behind her loving husband, Wade Bastien; children, Joshua, Christine, and Shelby Scout-Bastien; and her beloved pets, Kitty, Bailey, Shepherd, and Papay.
A Wake Service will be held on February 13, 2026, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 5 Ave, Fort Macleod, from 6:00 until 10:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held on February 14, 2026, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 2604 3 Ave, Fort Macleod, at 11:00 AM. Following the Funeral Mass, Kathy will be laid to rest on Piikani Nation.

RAFA, Joseph “Joe” JOSEPH RAFA JOE RAFA, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Gina Rafa, was born February 23, 1953, and passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at the age of 72 years.
Besides his loving wife Gina, he is lovingly cherished by his children, Max and Jamie, and his extended family and friends.
He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and deep devotion to his family.

PEDERSEN, James JAMES MORGAN PEDERSEN Feb. 1, 1934 ~ Jan. 13, 2026 At 91 years of age, James Morgan Pedersen passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 13, 2026. He leaves behind his wife, Shirley Pedersen; brothers Charlie (Cheryl) Pedersen and Garry (Lorraine) Pedersen; children Brian (Carol) Pedersen, Reta (Jeff) Kerr, and Leslie Glimsdale; grandchildren Elizabeth (Travis) Trofimenkoff, Jarvis (Sade) Kerr, Jordan Kerr, Jayce (Keltie) Kerr, Barry (Amber) Toone, and Morgan (Dylan) Glimsdale; and great-grandchildren Jayla Kerr, Jones and Jethro Kerr, and Carter, Buck and Casey James Toone. Jim leaves big shoes to fill as he was a pillar of the Claresholm community, winning the citizen of the year award in 1980, and devoting over twenty-five years of his life designing, building, and maintaining the Claresholm Community Center, along with being a dedicated member of the Claresholm Lions Club since 1972, and the Sons of Norway since 1960.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Zentner Funeral Homes – 4079 1st Street West – Claresholm, Alberta on February 14, 2026 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Claresholm Lion’s Club be made in Jim’s memory. Box 222 Claresholm, Alberta

PETERS, Daniel DANIEL PETERS 1938 ~ 2026 Mr. Daniel Peters of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Patsy Peters passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the age of 87 years.

STEIN, Lotte STEIN It is with deep sadness the family of LOTTE STEIN, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Ludwig Stein, announces her peaceful passing at Legacy Lodge on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the age of 94 years.
Lotte was born in Germany and immigrated in 1952 with her loving husband, along with other family members and friends.
They started a new life in Canada where they worked hard and were grateful for all they accomplished.
Our Mom was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She had unconditional love for her family and spent as much time as she could with her family, whether it was baking, playing games, babysitting or having sleepovers with the children; Oma loved them all.
Mom loved the Lord and participated in many bible studies and church activities.
She also loved her flower garden and spent countless hours tending to her plants and flowers. Her garden was a colourful masterpiece enjoyed by many.
Lotte is survived by her five children: Janet Ainscough (Laurier Krumps), Susan (David) Riehl, Norman (Denise) Stein, Roger (Darlene) Stein and Christine (Bob) Stockton. She is also survived by her brother Horst and brother-in-law Walter, nieces and nephews; and her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her!
A Celebration of Lotte’s Life will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH – #20 Rocky Mountain Blvd. West, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Lee Loveridge officiating.
The service will be live streamed and may be viewed through Lotte’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, where Lotte will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
