Bosch, Peterson named Pronghorns AOW

A pair of fifth-year veterans have earned the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week awards.

Kacie Bosch and Kyle Peterson of the Horns women’s and men’s basketball teams helped lead their respective squads against the undefeated Calgary Dinos in Canada West play last weekend in Calgary and at the 1st Choice Savings Centre.

Bosch recorded consecutive double-doubles in two close losses to the USPORTS second-ranked Dinos that puts the Pronghorns at 6-8

On Thursday in Calgary she scored a team-high 22 points and completed the double-double with 11 rebounds in a 74-66 loss. Bosch also had four steals and two assists.

On home court Saturday, the Chinook High School product earned her fourth double-double of the season and third consecutive with a 16 point, 11-rebound showing in a 73-67 loss.

In 14 games, Bosch leads the Pronghorns in scoring with 15.3 points per game and is also averaging 7.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists. She is second in the conference in steals with 38.

Peterson also had two strong performances in losses to the Dinos that drops to Lethbridge to 4-10.

In Calgary, the Edmonton product scored 13 points, three assists and two steals in the 105-90 loss.

On Saturday, Peterson led the Horns with 16 points, including hitting four shots from long range in the Pronghorns 86-74 loss. He also grabbed six rebounds, two assists and a steal in the loss.

On the season, Peterson is averaging 12.2 points per game and sits second in Canada West in assists per game with 5.3.
