The Picture Butte Sugar Kings varsity boys basketball took a slim halftime lead and held of for a win in Deep South Basketball Conference play Wednesday night.
Hosting the Immanuel Christian Eagles, the Sugar Kings nursed a 29-28 halftime lead en route to a 66-59 win as Frankie Enns led Picture Butte with 17 points.
Ryan Holm added 14 points for the Sugar Kings.
The Eagles were led by Brody Vant Land’s 22-point night. Kaleb Dick chipped in with 12 points.
In the junior varsity girls game Immanuel Christian won 46-33 as Megan Aleman led the Eagles with 28 points and teammate Jesse Collar hit for 18.
For the Sugar Queens, Abigail Leusink had 12 points.
In Coaldale Wedneday night, the Kate Andrews Pride girls varsity team defeated the Claresholm Willow Creek Cobras 97-22.
Kaci Abrey had a 28-point outing for the Pride and Haley Brown struck for 20. Evelyn Ferguson scored 12 points for Kate Andrews.
Kaitlyn Woodruff topped the Cobras with eight points.
The Pride won the junior varsity game 78-41 as Shaelynn Nelson drained 14 points for the Pride and Eve Duerksen and Gwen Newberry had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Leading Willow Creek was Brityn MacPherson with 12 points and Mya Lobreau with 10.
