The Lethbridge Warriors U12B ringette team turned in a tournament-title performance last weekend.
The Warriors downed the NW Calgary Eclipse 6-3 in the gold-medal game of the Strathmore Tournament.
The gold-medal win was also a rematch against the Eclipse, the Warriors’ division rival Lethbridge met earlier in the tournament.
The Warriors started the weekend with a 14-4 victory over the host Strathmore Ice.
Brooklyn Lynch led Lethbridge with four goals, while Charli Allinson and Payton Racz scored twice each. Jenna Kambeitz, Samantha Martin, Camrynn Dueck, Maggie Swain, Hannah Guidinger and Kennedy Parks added singles, and Alexis Ingram was in goal.
The Warriors faced the Eclipse for the first time during the weekend, skating to a 3-3 tie as Anna Storey, Swain and Kambeitz found the back of the net.
Grace Murphy earned the win in goal for the Warriors.
The tie set the table for a must-win game against Edmonton and the Warriors delivered with a 7-3 win.
Luca Nunweiler, Niobe Ebel, Lindsay Lloyd, Dueck, Kambeitz, Racz and Martin scored for the Warriors, while Murphy was in net.
In the gold-medal rematch against the Eclipse Lynch scored a pair of goals and Kambeitz, Racz, Martin and Swain — into an empty net — rounded out the scoring.
Ingram was in goal for the gold medal game.
