The Lethbridge Canadian Tire North bantam Tier 1 Hurricanes took in some tournament play last weekend.
The Canes were in Cranbrook for the Rumble in the Rockies tournament and placed second in the round-robin before losing 5-4 in the semifinal to the Calgary Saints in a shootout.
Lethbridge started the weekend with a 3-2 loss to the host Cranbrook Friday as Braeden Jack scored both Hurricanes goals, including one on a penalty shot.
The Hurricanes posted their first win Saturday with a 4-1 decision over the Saints. Jack added another pair of goals and Jayden Spence and Hudson Dell scored once each.
In their final game of the round-robin, the Canes blanked the Castlegar Rebels 2-0 as Spence and Lucas Alexander found the back of the net.
Goaltender Harrison DeJong earned the shutout.
But in the semifinal the Hurricanes were unable to down the Saints a second time in a 5-4 shootout loss.
Dell, Alexander, Spence, Cormac Crighton and Oakley Hill scored for the Hurricanes.
