Wardley signs with Steelheads

After completing his last season with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men’s hockey team, Evan Wardley is already taking the next step in his hockey career.

The fourth-year defenceman and graduate who hails from Vulcan has signed with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL, the team announced Tuesday.

Wardley has spent the last four seasons with the Pronghorns and had one goal and two points in 24 games this season.

He spent his Western Hockey League career with the Seattle Thunderbirds from 2011-15 and played 12 games with the Wheeling nailers of the ECHL between in 2015 and 2016.

Wardley also played with the Lethbridge Val Matteotti bantam AAA Golden Hawks, the Lethbridge minor midget Hurricanes and the Lethbridge midget AAA Hurricanes before starting his WHL career in Seattle.
