Local athlete Ryan Evans completed his second heptathlon in a little under a month this week.

Evans, who just started his Grade 12 year at LCI, ran his second race Monday at the University of Lethbridge Stadium and the Civic Centre Track, improving by 180 points from a month ago and posting personal bests in five of seven events.

He notched personal bests in the 100m dash (11.04 seconds), long jump (6.42 metres), discus (42.71m), javelin (45.87m) and the 1,500m (4:48.8) and threw 13.22m in the shot put and ran 53.82 seconds in the 400m dash.

That gave Evans 4,733 points after scoring 4,553 in his first heptathlon at the beginning of August.

Those totals would give Evans roughly 6,800 in a full decathlon.
