The Lethbridge College Kodiaks women’s soccer team continues to recruit, and this time they added a little speed.

As they gear up for the 2021 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference season, the Kodiaks announced the commitment of striker Megan Morrison.

The product of Medicine Hat will make the Kodiaks just a little bit faster.

“She’s just speed on wheels, that girl,” said Kodiaks head coach Sean Carey in a release. “Megan has the skills and she can finish. She’s small and very quick. She’s not scared to go at players and in our league, speed kills. If you have somebody with her pace coming at you, it’s scary for the defence.”

After graduating from Monsignor McCoy High School in Medicine Hat, Morrison will join the Kodiaks, but already brings local ties, having played with the Lethbridge Football Club.

After losing last season to the COVID-19 pandemic, Morrison now brings her speed to the ACAC level.

“I would say I’m pretty fast,” said Morrison, who will enrol in Lethbridge College’s general studies program when classes begin in the fall. “I definitely think that I can react fast within a game.”
