The Coaldale Copperheads are ready to strike again.
After losing their 2020-21 Heritage Junior Hockey League season to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Copperheads announced their schedule for the 2021-22 season Tuesday.
The Copperheads will play a 34-game regular season – 17 home games and 17 away games – running from October to early-February.
They open the season on the road Oct. 1 when they take on the Okotoks Bisons.
The Copperheads hold their home opener Oct. 2 when the Medicine Hat Cubs pay a visit to the Coaldale Sportsplex at 8 p.m.
The Copperhead’s 2021 schedule runs until Dec. 23 and then resumes in 2022 when they head to Airdrie to take on the Thunder Jan. 7.
Coaldale’s first home game of the 2022 portion of the schedule goes Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. against the High River Flyers.
They wrap up the regular season with a pair of games in early February, hosting Lomond Feb. 5 before heading to Cochrane for an afternoon game Feb. 6.
All of the Copperheads Saturday night home games this season have been bumped up to 8 p.m. from 8:30 p.m. in past years.
