Team Canada, featuring former University of Lethbridge Pronghorns basketball player Kacie Bosch and current Pronghorns lead assistant coach Paige Crozon, is off to a 2-0 start at the inaugural FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup 2021 tournament.
Team Canada, which also features Michelle Plouffe and Catherine Traer, got the tournament off to a 2-0 start Friday at the event in Miami thanks to a 19-7 win over Puerto Rico and a 22-3 decision over Uruguay.
In the win over Puerto Rico, Bosch and Crozon each had three points.
Crozon added another six points in the win over Uruguay, while Bosch had another three.
The wins put Canada in the quarter-finals against Mexico at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Crozon has appeared in three FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series stops in 2021, including leading Canada to a second place finish at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Bucharest Final 2021. Ten years ago she made her 3×3 debut at the 2011 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championships.
Bosch is Canada’s newcomer and makes her debut in Miami this weekend.
In addition to her career at the University of Lethbridge, Bosch spent two seasons with the Gonzaga University Bulldogs.
Canada, currently ranked 19th in the FIBA 3Ã – 3 Women’s Federation Rankings, is the top seed for the FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup 2021 and headlines Pool A.
