The Lethbridge Eagles are Alberta Junior Female Hockey League South Division champions.
The Eagles downed the Cochrane Chaos 3-2 in Game 2 of the teams’ best-of-three South Division final series Saturday afternoon at Nicholas Sheran Arena to sweep the series 2-0.
The Eagles won Game 4-1 Friday night in Cochrane.
On Saturday, the Chaos held a 1-0 lead after the first period on a goal from Teagan Rose, but Skylar Colonna pulled Lethbridge even 6:46 into the second to tie it at 1-1 after 40 minutes.
Kyra Greig and Brandi Yellow Wings paced the Eagles to a 3-1 lead in the opening 6:26 of the third, but the Chaos pulled to within one with 2:11 to go as Kaley Mueller made it close.
But the visitors were unable to net the equalizer as Eagles goaltender Hayley Whelen stopped 28 of 30 shots to earn the win.
The Eagles were 20-8-1-0 in the regular season and in second place in the South Division behind the 26-2-0-0 Chaos.
