Hurricanes swept by Oil Kings

The Lethbridge Hurricanes lost to the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-4 in Game 4 on Thursday night at the Enmax Centre, ending their season is a four-game sweep.

Edmonton would get a powerplay goal from Josh Williams at 15:57  of the third to make the game 5-4.

Ty Nash took a boarding penalty leading up to Williams game winning goal.

Jakub Demek would pot an empty netter at 19:50 for good measures

“I think there is a weak call at the end of the game and it ends the series ,” said Brent Kisio, Hurricanes head coach.

“Our guys worked hard tonight. We had (no) powerplays and they had four.”

Alex Thacker got the Hurricanes the early lead just 1:03 into the game.

“We got the lead and we got the start we wanted,” said Kisio.

“I thought our guys played hard all night.”

“However that lead was short lived as Dylan Guenther tied the game at 1 4:23 later on the powerplay from Justin Sourdif.

Joe Arntsen pulled the home side ahead 2-1 at 17:47 of the first as he wired the puck past Oil Kings netminder Sebastian Cossa.

Assists went to Jett Jones and Ty Nash.

Edmonton’s Carter Souch tied the game just 5:16 into the second from  Simon Kubicek and Logan Dowhaniuk on the powerplay.

 Dawson Seitz would score his first of the postseason at 11:19 of the middle frame to pull Edmonton ahead 3-2.

Lethbridge would tie the game at three as Tyson Laventure found the back of the net at 13:20 of the second from Jett Jones.

It was 3:58 into the third that Tyler Horstman gave Edmonton a 4-3 lead.

Justin Hall would poke the puck home  n the crease to get the Hurricanes fourth goal  and tie the game up at 15:17 of the third.

“The boys fought hard all series and especially tonight ,” said Arntsen.

“They gave it their everything and I super proud of this group. We came out and played. I mean obviously you know we just needed another bounce or something to go in, but it didn’t just go our way and tip our hats to Edmonton as well because they’re a really good team.”

Edmonton outshot Lethbridge 47-17.

Edmonton went 2-for-4 on the powerplay while Lethbridge had no opportunities on the man advantage.
