Dawgs demolish Bulls

After coming off of a successful road trip where they won four of  five games, the Lethbridge Bulls had a tough night at home as the Okotoks Dawgs won 9-1 on Friday night.

The Dawgs got on the board in the first inning as Noah Geekie hit a double to advance McCoy Pearce to third base and scored Conner Barnett.

Okotoks would tack on to their lead in the second inning as Alenjandro Cazerola hit a double to advance Alex Stufft to third.

The Bulls catcher Roger Riley could not keep the ball in front of him as Cazerola advanced to third and Stufft scored to make the game 2-0 Dawgs.

Aidan Rose was in the ninth spot  for Okotoks and hit a single to cash Cazerola and lead 3-0

In the fourth innings, the Dawgs Jake Hoskins stepped up to the plate with one out and hit a sacrifice fly to score Cazerola and make the game 4-0.

The Bulls’ Kade Kahlert was chased after four innings after giving up four runs on nine hits.

The Dawgs continued to do damage as they had two hits and resulted in another two runs in the fifth to make the game 6-0.

Jacob Marrow hit a double to score Tucker Zdunich and later Cazerola hit a double to cash in Marrow.

Okotoks would continue to pad their lead in the sixth as Zdunich hit a two-out double to score Hoskins and Pearce.

Stufft continued his productive evening as he hit a double in the top of the ninth to make it 9-0 dawgs.

Lethbridge would break the shutout bid in the bottom of the ninth as Torrin Vaselenak gave the home crowd something to cheer about with a home run.

With the loss the Bulls record falls to 8-9 on the season.

The Bulls wrap up the weekend with a 2:05 p.m. first pitch in Brooks tomorrow and will head east for two games in Swift Current on Tuesday and Wednesday this upcoming week.
