The Lethbridge Hurricanes got back on track Saturday night as they ousted the Swift Current Broncos 3-2 on the road.
Canes Captain Joe Arntsen snuck in from the right point and received a pass from Tyson Zimmer and wristed the puck past Broncos goaltender Reid Dyck on the powerplay at 3:44 of the first period.
The Broncos countered at 8:52 of the first as Adam McNutt slapped a seeing-eye shot on net from the blueline and found its way past Jared Picklyk.
Cole Shepard scored his fourth of the season on a nice forehand deke just past the stretched out pad of Dyck at 18:39 of the first to make the score 2-1 Lethbridge.
The Broncos tied the game at TWO in the second period as Owen Pickering pounced on a rebound and snapped the puck over Picklyk at the 5:12 mark.
Shepard got his second of the night as he skated around the zone before snapping the rubber disc past a screened Dyck at 10:34 of the final frame to give Lethbridge a 3-2 lead and the win.
The Hurricanes record improved to 5-7 after the win.
Picklyk saved 33 of 35 shots while Dyck saved 29 of 32 shots on the night.
Lethbridge went 1-for 4 on the man advantage and Swift Current had no goals on four chances.
The teams will battle again in Swift Current on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
