The Lethbridge Hurricanes have re-acquired the rights to goaltender Jared Picklyk from the Tri-City Americans ahead of the WHL trade deadline on Tuesday.
The 2003-born player comes in exchange for a 10th round pick in the 2025 Western Hockey League prospects draft.
The 19-year-old Picklyk has been assigned to the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
Picklyk was originally drafted by the ‘Canes 148th overall in the seventh round of the 2018 WHL draft. He was traded to Tri-City in November for a sixth-round pick but only appeared in two games for the Americans.
A native of Kelowna, B.C., the 6’3” 195 lb. Picklyk started nine games with the ‘Canes this season posting a record of 4-5-0-0 with a 3.50 goals against average and an .877 save percentage.
He has a career WHL record, primarily with the ‘Canes, of 14-14-3-1 with a 3.60 GAA and .880 save percentage.
The team is back in action tonight when they host the Swift Current Broncos at 7 p.m.
