Hurricanes thump Oil Kings

Hayden Smith led the way with a hat trick and one assist for the Lethbridge Hurricanes in a triumphant 10-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday afternoon on the road.
Tyson Zimmer had two goals, while Jett Jones had three points (1 goal, 2 assists), Nolan Bentham, Anton Astashevich (1 goal,2 assists), Miguel Marques and Cole Shepard all got in on the scoring brigade.
Jones’ goal marked the 50th of his career.
Mason Finley and Noah Boyko scored in the lopsided loss for the Oil Kings.
Hurricanes goalie Harrison Meneghin kicked out 22-of-24 Edmonton shots
The Oil Kings’ used both goalies where starter Tyler Cunningham saves 4-of-6 shots before giving way to Kolby Hay who save 37-of-45 shots.
The Hurricanes went 4-for-8 on the powerplay.
Lethbridge (26-16-3-2) will host the Moose Jaw Warriors (30-15-0-3) at the Enmax Centre on Wednesday night.
