Horns Track and Field team have strong showings at Panda Open

The University of Lethbridge’s track and field team achieved personal bests at the Panda Open meet in Edmonton over the weekend.
Andreas Troschke won with a distance of 18.32 metres in the Men’s Weight Throw 15.88 kg class while Janaye Shomachuk won the women’s 9.08 kg weight throw with a distance of 18.56 metres.
Both athletes currently lead CanadaWest and USports.
Lauchlan Irish won gold in triple jump with a distance of 15.05 metres.
Basketball
The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns basketball teams finished up their Canada West seasons with a pair of losses to the University of Alberta.
The women’s team (7-13)lost 76-50 and 91-78 respectively.
The men’s team (6-14) loss 96-64 and 107-71.
Both teams did not qualify for playoffs.
