The Lethbridge Miners swept the Lewistown Redbirds with a 9-3 win the second game of the double header on Wednesday night at Spitz Stadium
Alex Westlund led the charge for the Miners as he went 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk, an RBI, three runs scored and four stolen bases.
Willis Takahashi went two-for-two with a walk and two RBIs.
Miners’ starting pitcher Jarret McNeil pitched 4 2/2 innings, striking out seven and giving up no earned runs.
Dylan Asplund came in and pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowing one earned run.
Lethbridge’s single A American Legion team took the first game 18-11.
The wins improve the Miners record to 14-2 in conference play.
Meanwhile, the AA Elks lost 7-5 to the Butte Miners to open the Keith Sell Helena Tournament on Thursday.
