The Lethbridge College Kodiaks women’s soccer team remains undefeated with a 6-0 record after defeating the Sait Trojans 2-0 at home on Saturday, in what was a battle of two undefeated teams.
Kenley Matishak scored both goals in the second half to propel the Kodiaks to the win.
LC and SAIT will have a rematch on Oct. 15 in Calgary.
The women’s team will look to keep the undefeated streak going when they hit the road for two games at Olds and Red Deer Polytechnic on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
LC’s men’s team, however, did not have the same luck against SAIT on Saturday as they dropped their game 7-0 and record to 4-1.
SAIT scored two goals in the first half and five in the second half on route to the win.
The men will be back in action this weekend as well at Olds and RDP respectively.
Pronghorns
The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns soccer teams had a tough time finding the back of the net this weekend as each team dropped both of their road games.
The men’s team (3-4-4) lost both their contests by the way of shutouts.
The Horns concluded the weekend with a 1-0 loss to Mount Royal University on Sunday, while opening with a 4-0 loss on Saturday at University of Calgary.
The men’s team’s record fell to 1-2-1 on the five game road trip that will conclude with a game against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies on Oct. 14.
The U of L women’s team continued their struggles to find the win column as they lost two one goal games over the weekend.
The weekend began for the women with a 1-0 loss at the University of Saskatchewan on Saturday.
U of L was then beaten by the University of Regina Cougars 2-1 on Sunday.
The women’s team (1-10) will conclude their five-game road trip in Calgary against the Dinos on Saturday at noon. Their record sits at 0-4 on the road trip.
