The Lethbridge Hurricanes won their first game of the road trip after a 6-2 win over the Regina Pats on Friday night at the Brandt Centre.
Tristen Doyle scored his first of the season to give the Canes a 1-0 lead at 14:15 of the first period from Noah Chadwick and Kash Andresen.
Sean Tschigerl notched his 21st of the season to make it 2-0 for Lethbridge just over 17 minutes into the first.
Leo Braillard and Braeden Wynne assisted on the marker.
The Canes increased their lead to 3-0 in the second period when Miguel Marques found the back of the net for his 19th of the season at the 14:55 mark.
Tschigerl and Braillard assisted on Marques goal.
It was at 12:18 of the third that Logan Wormald gave the Canes a 4-0 lead with his 12th goal of the season on the powerplay from Chadwick and Brayden Edwards.
Regina got on the board at 13:20 of the third period as Tanner Howe beat Harrison Meneghin for his 22nd goal of the year.
Zach Moore assisted on Howe’s goal.
The Pats cut Lethbridge’s lead in half just 3:08 later as Tye Spencer scored to make it a 4-2 game.
Keagan Slaney got the assist.
The Hurricanes would put the game out of reach with two late goals.
Dylan Sydor scored his 23rd of the season at 16:57 of the final frame on the powerplay from Marques and Brayden Edwards.
Trae Wilke finished off the scoring brigade with his ninth goal of the year with under two minutes to go in the game from Joe Arntsen and Luke Cozens.
That was the first win for the Canes against the Pats this season and they will conclude their season series next Friday at the Enmax Centre.
Final shots were 37-24 in favour of the Canes.
Lethbridge went 2-for-4 while Regina went 0-for-1 with the man advantage.
The Canes (21-18-3-0) will look to go .500 on this four-game road trip as they take on the Brandon Wheat Kings on the final stop tonight at 6 p.m.
