Lots of action at turf club over the weekend

Another weekend of horses barrelling down the track at Rocky Mountain Turf Club took place last weekend.

Both days held seven races along with activities for the entire family to enjoy.

The first race Saturday had five horses running at a length of five furlongs. She’s a Sniper, ridden by Jose Rocha, took the race with That Little Lady ridden by Juan Apango, Mert’s Tree Lot, ridden by Orlando Foster and Italian Griz ridden by Garfield Gordon following.

Race Two, which had seven horses running five-and-a-half furlongs, required a show photo with B Bear who was ridden by Ryan Nelson taking it over Anna’s Girl, ridden by Andre Powell. First place was Chatter Up, ridden by Trevor Simpson and Anna’s Girl, ridden by Andre Powel came second.

Mobil Creek, ridden by Trevor Simpson, took the third race followed by Flashing Joker ridden by Jose Rocha, Lighterandquicker, ridden by Juan J Apango and Northern Gold ridden by Blandford Stewart.

The fourth race, which was a six-furlong race with five horses, got off to a rocky start with Everything to Gain losing their rider shortly after the opening of the gate resulting in a did not finish for the horse. Golden Train, ridden by Blandford Stewart took the race with Sweetness To, ridden by Ryan Nelson, Turbo Chick, ridden by Garfield Garden and Stans Starlet finished respectively.

Lipstick Lady took race five which was six-furlongs with a total of six horses racing. The Comrie Rule, First Emerald and Say it All took their respective places for place show and fourth.

Race six was between seven horses for a distance of seven-furlongs. It was won by Agent C with Bear Me a Moment, Speeding in Style and Rotten to the Core taking the place, show and fourth spots.

The last race of Saturday was five furlongs run by seven horses. Anaamy took the race followed by Dancing Zazinga, Southern Lass and Mermaid Kisses.

The first race on Sunday was three furlongs with five horses. It was won by Bandslammer with cuss’n Cat taking place, Mindshare taking show and Soul Obsession taking fourth.

Race two was five-and-a-half furlongs with five horses running. Dadsamumbler took the race and Dermot’s Dilemma, Siksika Sharkie and Little Child finished in that order respectively.

Race three was a race of six horses running five-and-a-half furlongs. Wild Arch took the race followed by Silvers Last Dance, Roses for Suzzett and Northern Missile.

Dead Heats are where two or more horses are in a complete tie and are a rare occurrence in horse racing but there were almost two on Sunday.

In the fourth race Jersey shadow inched across the finish line over Formal Tux by a hair. The Hybrid and Golden Cowboy were second and third.

Place for the fifth race ended up with a dead heat with Saburo’s Grace and Christine’s Jack. The race was won by Little J P with Eldorado Storm and Crown Ruler coming in show and fourth respectively.

The sixth race had six horses running six furlongs. The Truth Project won the race with Bennybob, Rattlesnake Jack and Poncholightsout crossing the finish line in that order.

Altitude won the final race of the weekend which was a six-furlong race between seven horses. Fullout Fire, Silent Declaration and Remeberthealamo took place, show and fourth places respectfully.
