Kodiaks basketball split games on the road

Both of the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks basketball team split their road games over the weekend.

The Kodiak men’s team saw their record go to 4-2 on the season after losing 98-63 at NAIT on Friday, before rebounding with a 72-58 win over University of Augustana on Saturday.

Treydon Barton scored 24 points in the loss to NAIT and drained 20 in the win to lead the Kodiaks over the weekend.

As for the Kodiak women’s team, they also saw their record go to the same as the men after being edged by NAIT 54-53 on Friday and rebounded with a 64-56 win over Augustana on Saturday.

Courtney Deemter led the scoring for the Kodiaks with 13 points and Halle Aleman was right behind her with 12 points on Friday.

Bailey Blackmore drained 19 points, while Deemter had 15 points in their win on Saturday.

Both teams head up north to face Keyano next Friday and Saturday in Lakeland after a bye week.

 

Cross -Country

 

Both the Kodiak men’s and women’s cross-country teams were out in Windsor Ont., competing in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association national championships on Saturday.

The highest-finishing Kodiak women’s runner was Hannah Pilling in 20th place with a time of 24:29.40

Owen Stewart was the highest-finishing Kodiak on the men’s side in 31st place with a time of 26.53. 70.

LP’s women’s team finished eighth overall and the men finished in 11th.
