Pronghorns take down Bobcats

Both of U of L’s basketball teams swept the University of Brandon Bobcats over the weekend on the road.

The Horn men’s team moved to 4-0 with both of their wins.

The men began the weekend by thumping the Bobcats 102-69 on Friday.

Jack-Henry Fox-Grey led the way for the Horns with 18 points.

That win was followed by a much tighter 89-81 win on Saturday.

Both Angelo Mbituyimana and Fox-Grey led the way for the U of L with 22 and 21 points respectively.

The Horn women’s team also swept their way through their games in Brandon to improve their  record to 3-1.

They started the weekend by beating the Bobcats 65-45.

Kamryn DeKlerk and Courtney McKee each had 13 points for the Horns in the win.

The Horns kicked up the offence a notch on Saturday in an 81-49 win over Brandon.

McKee had 21 points, followed by Piper Dobbelsteyn with 18 points in the win.

Both teams host Mount Royal University on Friday and Saturday.

Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks

The Kodiak men’s volleyball team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the No.5 nationally ranked Keyano Huskies on Friday in four-sets.

Ethan Nashim led the Kodiaks attack with 19 points in the loss.

LP then rebounded with a four-set win on Saturday over Lakeland to improve to 7-1 on the season.

Nashim and Nolan Moes each had 19 points in the win.

As for the LP Kodiak women’s team, they were swept in three sets by Keyano and Lakeland to drop to 1-7 on the season.

Both teams have a bye-week before playing at Concordia University- Edmonton on Nov. 29.

The basketball teams are coming off a bye-week where they will visit Lakeland and Keyano this weekend.
