The Lethbridge Hurricanes earned four of a possible six points after a three game in three night stretch over the weekend.
The Canes ended their weekend with a 2-1 road win against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday.
Brayden Yager took a Noah Chadwick pass and walked into the slot and wired it top corner for his 15th goal of the year on the powerplay 13:48 into the first period to give Lethbridge a 1-0 lead.
Brayden Edwards then cut to the net off the left wing and flipped a shot over Ethan Simcoe 14:29 into the second period to give the Canes a 2-0 lead.
The Oil Kings got on the board when Rylen Roersma, who had a goal disallowed earlier in the game, got revenge when he took advantage of a bad bounce behind the Canes net and scored into an empty net with 6:46 to go in the game.
Jackson Unger made 27-of-28 saves in the Canes crease, while Simcoe saved 18-of-20 shots for the Oil Kings.
Lethbridge went 1-for-2 and Edmonton had no goals on two chances on the powerplay in the contest.
The win improved the Canes record to 10-1 in their last 11 games.
It was the night prior that the Canes winning streak was snapped at nine games after the Calgary Hitmen beat them 3-2 at VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Hitmen got out to a 3-0 lead in the first period.
Ben Kindel backhanded in his 27th goal of the year from Tanner Howe and Oliver Tulk at the 6:37 mark of the opening frame.
Carson Wetsch then scored on a centering pass from Connor Hvidston to make it 2-0 six minutes later.
Hunter Aura’s points shot found its way through a crowd to give the Hitmen a 3-0 lead with just under two-and-a-half minutes to go in the opening frame.
Wyatt Pisarczyk and Lethbridge product Rylan Ng assisted on Aura’s sixth goal of the season.
Edwards got the Canes on the board when he buried a pass from Logan Wormald while shorthanded 10:19 into the second period.
Wormald then one timed in a cross-seam pass from Yager and Noah Chadwick on the powerplay with 5:35 to go in the third period to bring the Canes to within a goal.
Unger saved 20-of-23 shots while the Hitmen’s Daniel Hauser steered away 22-of-24 Lethbridge shots.
Lethbridge went 1-for-6 while Calgary had no goals on four chances on the powerplay.
The Canes began their weekend with a 4-1 win over Red Deer on Friday.
