The Lethbridge Hurricanes extended the team’s road best winning streak to nine games after a blanking the Red Deer Rebels 4-0 on Saturday.
Leo Braillard open the scoring on the powerplay when he took a pass from Noah Chadwick and ripped it passed Chase Wutzke for his 21st of the year with just over three minutes to go in the first period.
Brayden Yager also assisted on Braillard’s goal.
Brayden Edwards gave the Canes a 2-0 lead on the same four-minute powerplay that Braillard scored on just over two minutes later.
Yager and Braillard assisted on Edwards’ 21st goal of the season.
Yager then scored the Canes third powerplay goal of the night when his wrist shot went off the cross bar and in 1:56 into the third period from Chadwick and Braillard.
Carsen Adair scored his second goal in as many nights 11:19 into the third period after scoring his first WHL goal on Friday night to solidify the Canes 31st win of the year.
Kash Andresen and Trae Johnson picked up the assists on Adair’s goal.
Lethbridge went 3-for-5 on the powerplay and outshot the Rebels 28-25.
The Canes improved to 6-1 against the Rebels on the season and both teams will meet one last time this season on Wednesday night at VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Canes will begin a four-game in seven-night stretch tonight when they play the Calgary Hitmen tonight on the road.
The Canes are 10-1 in their last 11 games on the road.
