Canes come back to defeat Raiders

Shane Smith netted his 11th goal of the season with 56 seconds to go in overtime to lift the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 2-1 road victory over the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday night.

Noah Chadwick and Kooper Gizowski assisted on the game winner.

The Raiders Linden Burrett fired home his first WHL goal 4:43 into the contest from Evan Smith and Riley Boychuk to open the scoring.

Prince Albert was nearing a clean sheet win before the Canes Brayden Yager tied the game with 3:36 to go in the game from Caden Price and Logan McCutcheon to send the game to overtime.

Lethbridge went 0-for-4 and the Raiders went 0-for-5 on the powerplay.

The Canes outshot PA 32-27 in the game.

With the win, the Canes are 2-1 against PA this season and both teams will meet one final time in the regular season at VisitLethbridge.com Arena on March 12.

Lethbridge(37-19-2-1) continues their four-game road trip in Brandon on Friday night.
