PBA splits games with Coyotes

For the second weekend in a row the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs varsity team split their road games.

The Dawgs played a four game series with the Okanagan College Coyotes and opened with a 7-6 win in the first game of the double-header on Saturday.

PBA scored seven runs on eight hits, while Jack Hudson pitched seven innings, giving up three runs on four hits and struck out nine Coyote batters and Noah McNeil scored two runs to lead the way.

The Coyotes responded with a 9-3 win in the Saturday evening game.

PBA could only muster three runs on 11 hits and Will Turner went 3-for-5 at the plate for the Dawgs.

Jake Maniago took the loss after allowing seven runs on 11 hits and six of those runs being earned.

On Sunday, PBA got back on track with a 9-4 win in the morning game.

McNeil led the way at the plate by going 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI and Morgan Halliday had four RBIs and he went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored.

Brayden Dewitt pitched 6 2/3 innings, while giving up three runs on six hits and striking out seven.

The Dawgs dropped the Sunday afternoon game 4-1 and got a run on six hits, while OC scored four runs on 10 hits.

Dawson Morrill pitched five innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and striking out two batters.

PBA plays their home opener at 4 p.m. on Friday at Lloyd Nolan Yard against the Victoria Golden Tide in the first of 12 straight games on home field.
