The annual Canadian College Baseball Conference World Series begins today and runs until Sunday at Spitz Stadium and while there will be the games themselves on the field, there will be some activities for fans to enjoy off the diamond as well .
“I think it’s good to get the word out there for the baseball community, at least in Lethbridge, and kind of promote college baseball because it is some of the best baseball that we have here in Canada ,” said Ryan Diflorio, Under the Lights Sports and Entertainment’s marketing/promotions manager.
Off – field activities include a pancake breakfast this morning beginning at 8 a.m. and it is seniors day at the ballpark all Thursday and discounted tickets being an option for them,
Friday will have a Long weekend kick-off theme and it is Prairie Baseball Academy alumni night
Saturday will have a Student “Summer Starts Now” Party for post-secondary students, who will get in for a discount rate when they show their ID.
Championship Sunday will be Moms Day where if mothers can enjoy a half-price ticket if they bring a child to the park.
“It’s good to get people into it,” said Diflorio.
“We’re hoping to get people out to the ball park that wouldn’t normally come.”

Tickets can be purchased at gate as well and fans 17 and under are free.

Teams include the host PBA Dawgs and the rest of the CCBC teams including Okanagan College Coyotes, TRU Wolfpack, University of Calgary Dinos, VIU Mariners, UFV Cascades, Edmonton Collegiate Hawks and Victoria Collegiate Golden Tide.
