South Zone champions crowned

 Lethbridge high school  varsity Rugby 15s teams were crowned  Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association (ASAA) South Zone   champions on Monday night at Lethbridge Sports Park. 

For 4A  girls, LCI defeated Raymond 22-10  to take home the South Zone banner and both teams advanced to provincials . 

The 3A girls  banner went to Winston Churchill who defeated W. R. Myers 39-17 and both teams earned a berth  at provincials.

The 4A boys banner went to LCI who beat Chinook 35-17 to advance to be the lone 4A representative from the south in  provincials. 

The four girls teams and the one boys team will now get ready to play in ASAA Provincials this weekend, which is being hosted in the city by Winston Churchill High School at Lethbridge Sports Park .

The 15s league MVPs were named on the evening as LCI’s Madi Kutsch was nominated for the girls division  and Winston Churchill’s Isaac Morrison was nominated for the boys division.
