The Lethbridge Miners did not get the start they were looking for in their American Legion ‘A’ baseball doubleheader against the Havre NorthStars on Wednesday at Spitz Stadium as they loss the first game 8-2.
“Our defence was not helping out our pitchers enough,” said Nicholas Ankermann, Miners head coach.
“it’s not very easy to win baseball games when you have seven errors behind your pitchers who have been throwing well and have been working their butts off.”
The Miners mustered two runs on three hits while the NorthStars had eight runs on 10 hits.
Brett Smith and Nate Conway- Mulder each drove in a run for the Miners.
The second game result was unavailable as of press time.
