Bombers crush Bulls

The Lethbridge Bulls began a three-game weekend road trip with a 12-7 defeat at the hands of the Brooks Bombers during Western Canadian Baseball League on  Friday night.

Jack Kalisky opened the scoring for the Bulls when his sacrifice fly scored Bernie Socarras in the first inning.
The Bombers tied the game in the bottom of the first inning when Christian Altamirano reached first base on a fielder’s choice, which allowed Payton Matthews to score.
The Bombers tacked on three more runs in the first inning to take a 4-1 lead.
A Wyatt Ormonde single scored Altamirano to give the Bombers a 2-1 lead.
JR Bedford came up later and hit a single to cash in Tyler Dorn and make the score 3-1.
Lucas Rick was up to bat after Bedford, and he hit a single to score Ormonde for Brooks fourth run of the game.
Lethbridge came back to tie the game in the third inning.
Carter Claerhout reached first base on an error by the second basemen, allowing for JP Spinosa to score to cut the Bombers lead to 4-2.
Kalisky then came up and hit a two-run home run to tie the game at four with Claerhout on.
Seth Reker gave the Bombers a 7-4 lead in the fifth inning when he hit a three-run home run.
Kalisky brought the Bulls to within a run as he hit his second two-run home run of the game in the seventh inning.
Lethbridge scored their seventh run in the eight inning when Dalen Blanchard scored on a Drew Bufford groundout.

Kalisky led the Bulls with two hits in four plate appearances, two runs scored and five runs batted in.

Jason Berglund gave up seven runs on nine hits, while striking out four batters and walked two batters in 4 1/3 innings of work in the losing cause.

The Bulls play in Moose Jaw against the Miller Express tonight at 7: 05 p.m. and tomorrow afternoon at 2:05 p.m.
