Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Leo Braillard has decided to return home to Switzerland to continue his hockey career.
The team announced on Wednesday that the 20-year-old has signed a professional contract with Switzerland’s EHC Biel-Bienne for this upcoming season.
Braillard was plucked off the Canadian Hockey League waivers by the Canes from the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League during the 2023-204 season.
Braillard had a career-high with the Canes last season with 46 points ( 26 goals, 20 assists) and a plus-11 plus-minus rating in 53 games.
He also added six points in four playoffs games before suffering a season-ending injury
The La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland product had 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists) in 46 regular season games in the 2023-2024 season.
Braillard had collected 80 regular season points in 99 games with the Canes.
Braillard has previous experience with this EHC Biel-Bienne at the U20 level before joining the CHL.
