The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks soccer teams split their road games with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers on Sunday.
The Kodiak women blanked the Rattlers 2-0.
Both teams were deadlocked at zeros going into second half before the Kodiaks’ Jordan Wright found the back of the net in the 58th minute.
The Rattlers back line was challenged by the Kodiaks and that paid off as Sophie DeMarsh solidified the Kodiaks victory with a goal in the 83rd minute.
Lethbridge outshot Medicine Hat 14-9 in the contest.
As for the Kodiak men, they were doubled up 4-2 by the Rattlers on Sunday.
Medicine Hat set the tone early as they were up 2-0 by the 15-minute mark of the contest, before the Kodiaks Noah Young cut the deficit to 2-1 later in the half.
Medicine Hat put the pressure on early in the second half which resulted in a Kylan-Wol Harden goal at the 48th minute and the Rattlers struck again at the 59 th minute when Tata Mugisha scored to give the home side a 4-1 lead.
Lethbridge got a goal back in the 59th minute off the foot of Alex Moroszczuk to make the score 4-2.
Medicine Hat outshot Lethbridge 14-9 in the match.
Pronghorns
The University of Lethbridge Pronghorn men’s soccer team earned a tie and win on their B.C. road trip over the weekend.
The Horns opened with a 1-1 tie against the TRU Wolfpack on Friday.
Kai Sakaguchi scored in the 90th minute to preserve the tie for the Horns.
U of L then blanked UBC Okanagan 1-0 on Saturday on a goal from Sakaguchi in the 54th minute.
The Horn women’s team were outscored 9-0 in two home games against the University of Calgary Dinos after 1-0 and 8-0 losses on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Rugby
The U of L women’s rugby team lost 55-12 to the University of Victoria on Saturday.
