Busy weekend for Kodiak athletics

The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks were busy on the pitch and on the cross-country track this weekend with competition.

The Kodiaks cross-country team hosted the second Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Grand Prix of the season at Nicholas Sheran Park on Saturday.

The Kodiaks found good results out of the races as the men’s team finished in second  and their top runner, Ethan Grasmeyer, placed fourth after running the eight-kilometre circuit in just under 31 minutes.

The Kodiak women just finished off the podium with a fourth-place finish and their top competitor was Katrina Michel, as her  28-minute time on the six-kilometre loop placed her in eighth place.

The Kodiak soccer teams hosted the SAIT Trojans in Raymond on Friday.

The  women lost 1-0, while the men lost 4-1.

The women rebounded with a 2-1 road win over University of Alberta-Augustana on Sunday.
