The Prairie Sky Conference’s  high school football league officially wrapped up  the season with their football awards night  on Wednesday night at LCI.

The last award handed out was to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and that went to  Raymond Comets running back/linebacker Seth Harding.

“It feels great,” said Harding.

“It feels good putting all the work in and reaping the reward.”

Harding wanted to be a player that let his team know he was there for them, whether it was in big or small situations, and is something that he took great pride during the season.

“Just being a leader and being able to make big plays for our team,” said Harding.

Harding credits his dad for helping him get the award.

“My dad pushes me a lot in training, nutrition (and) little hints of what to do there,” said Harding.

Harding also won All Star Running Back and All Star Linebacker awards.

“Seth is a very dynamic player,” said Darren Majeran, Prairie Sky Conference football league commissioner.

“No matter how Seth was getting the ball, he was very impressive (and) hard to game plan for opposing coaches.”

LCI Rams Owen Parker was named Most Outstanding Quarterback.

“It feels good that all my preparation and work I’ve put in has really helped me exceed,” said Parker.

“It helps out that you have two all-star receivers on your team … and a great ‘O’ (offensive) line (and) great coaching.”

“It’s his poise,” said Majeran, who is also LCI’s head coach.

“Owen (is) very consistent, has a lot of confidence in himself, believes in his abilities (and) is able to make really good reads on the football field. And when you couple that with a really strong arm and his athletic ability, I think he was another player that meant a lot to the league.”
