WHL roundup: Behm leads Blazers to 4-3 win over Blades

KAMLOOPS, B.C. – The Kamloops Blazers jumped out to a 4-0 lead and then had to hang on to beat the visiting Saskatoon Blades 4-3 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday night at the Sandman Centre.

Nathan Behm had a goal and two assists for the Blazers (10-8-1-0), who outshot the visitors 37-33.

Ben Riche had two goals for the East Division-leading Blades (11-5-1-1), while Brandon Lisowsky netted a single.

The Blazers led 2-0 after the first period and took a 4-3 lead into the third.

The Blazers went 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Blades did not have a power-play opportunity.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Koehn Ziemmer scored three goals and Borya Valis added a pair as the Prince George Cougars whipped the visiting Vancouver Giants 7-1.

Oasiz Wiesblatt scored twice for the Tigers (10-9-0-0), while Marcus Pacheco, Bryce Pickford and Brayden Ryan-MacKay netted singles.

Lynden Lakovic and Rilen Kovacevic both scored twice for the Warriors (4-13-2-0), who were outshot 41-24.

WENATCHEE, Wash. – Kyle Chyzowski had two goals and two assists as the visiting Portland Winterhawks beat the Wenatchee Wild 6-3.
