Canadian Dave Cameron moves on at Professional Darts Corporation qualifying school

KALKAR, Germany – Canadian David (Excalibur) Cameron has advanced to the final stage of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Qualifying Schools.

The 55-year-old from Fall River, N.S., a former world senior darts masters champion, defeated Stefan Dees of the Netherlands 5-2 to reach the final eight Tuesday on Day 2 at the PDC’s European Qualifying School.

More than 800 players are competing this week for the chance to secure two-year PDC Tour Cards.

Canadians Jim (Gentleman) Long and John (Darth Maple) Part, a former three-time world champion, are taking part at the U.K. Qualifying School in Milton Keynes.

The eight quarterfinalists from each of the three days of competition at the two schools qualify automatically for the final stage.

The remaining berths, up to a total of 128 at each venue, will be decided from an Order of Merit from the first stage, with one ranking point awarded per match from the first full round onward.

Long, a semifinalist at the2024 World Seniors Darts Championship, has a bye to the final stage which runs Friday to Sunday with a total of 29 PDC Tour Cards on offer.

Hamilton’s Matt (Ginja Ninja) Campbell is the only Canadian with a current PDC Tour Card.
