MOOSE JAW, Sask. — Canada’s Brad Jacobs is off to a winning start at the BKT World Men’s Curling Championship.
The veteran skip led his Calgary-based side to a 7-3 victory over Japan’s Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi in the opening round-robin draw at the Temple Gardens Centre.
Jacobs is representing Canada for the first time since winning gold at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia.
He earned the world championship berth by winning the recent Montana’s Brier with teammates Marc Kennedy, Brett Gallant and Ben Hebert.
Canada will play Germany’s Marc Muskatewitz in the evening draw.
Canada is looking for its first world men’s title since Brad Gushue was victorious in 2017 at Edmonton.
